Soup Making Night

What you'll learn in this class:

Join us in one of our soup-making sessions!

Upon arrival enjoy a light snack and glass of wine while you mix and mingle with the other partici-pants.

Then participate in a soup-making event right here at Kitchen Door Catering under the guid-ance of our culinary team. Class is taught in a professional commissary kitchen by a professional

chef. Meet the chef and learn all about the soups you will be preparing, enjoy a culinary demo, and outline. Then you don your aprons and, divide into teams. Under the chef’s watchful eye

and with his help, using your recipes and ingredients you prepare four soups.

While the soups are simmering, gather around our dining tables, sit back, and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our chefs—just for you!

Each event produces approximately 80-100 servings of nourishing soup. You can choose to take home apx 2 Litres of soup per participant or donate it to a local charity right here in Halifax (a

perfect way to give back!).

What you'll learn in this class:

Then watch our chefs as they demo 2-3 seasonal canpaes. Class is taught in a professional com-missary kitchen by a professional chef. Meet the chef and learn all about the canapes you will be preparing, enjoy a culinary demo, and outline. Then you don your aprons and, divide into teams. Under the chef’s watchful eye and with his help, using your recipes and ingredients you

prepare the hors d’oeuvres.

While the canapes are cooking, gather around, sit back, and enjoy decadent little bites pre-pared by our chefs—just for you!

What you'll learn in this class:

Class is taught in a professional commissary kitchen by a professional chef. Class starts in the din-ing room, where you enjoy a few nibbles and a glass of wine. Meet the chef and discuss your Black Box Challenge rules, culinary demo, and outline. Then you don your aprons and, divide into

teams. Under the chef’s watchful eye and with his help, using your mystery ingredients, you pre-pare a starter dish.

When you have finished cooking, each team will present their dishes and be judged by their peers on the best presentation, flavour, and originality.

Then gather around our dining tables, sit back, and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our chefs—just for you!

What Else Do You Need To Know?

 Events are held during the evening when space is available. We are a full -service catering company and the kitchen is also where we create all the food for our events. Event times usually can not begin until 6:00.

 Participants should wear comfortable work safe shoes as you will be working in a professional kitchen.

 The minimum group is 10 guests. F or interactive team -building events where each guest is taking part, our maximum number is 18 guests. Larger groups up to 30 can be accommodated however only for chef -demo or “teaching ” style classes. Maximum guest count is 30.

 Most events include an interactive component – black box challenge, top chef challenge for the first hour of the event – including participants presenting and judging their creations. The chefs at Kitchen Door Catering will then prepare a family style feast for the guests to enjoy (maximum 18 guests) For larger groups – fun interactive food stations and passed mini

-fessional staff, food and fun! HST, service charge (18%) and beverages are in addition. Alcohol is billed on consumption Minimum 10 days notice for booking.

 Final guests counts and dietary restrictions are due 10 days before your culinary event.

 A signed contract along with 50% deposit and credit card information s required to confirm your book-ing. The remaining balance is due 2 days prior to your event. Any additional alcohol consumed will be billed post event to the credit card on file.

 Payments can be made by cash, cheque, credit card, or EMT. If all payments are made in cash we will reduce your service fee to 15%.
