Specialization Guide

The Specialization Guide offers a consolidated view of the Specialization Competency Readiness for all launched and planned Specializations and the Criteria that need to be met for joining the OPN Specialized program.

The dates are referring to Oracle's Fiscal Year:

The Specialization Competency Readiness lists all the Specializations launched and planned that are/will be part of the OPN Specialized program. The Specializations aim to cover the broad range of Oracle’s technology and applications products including those recently acquired. The list is regularly reviewed and aligned with the priorities as expressed by our customers, our partners, and Oracle subject matter experts.

The Specializations' curriculum and accreditations are being developed by Oracle experts using a rigorous instructional design methodology to qualify partner skills in four roles: Sales, PreSales, Support, and Implementation .

Every new released Oracle Certification goes through a beta cycle, an evaluation process to ensure that partners are taking relevant certification. Passing a beta exam is the same as passing a production exam. For more details on beta exams, please visit:

Specialization Criteria

The Specialization Criteria is a quick reference to the available Specializations and to the Business and Competency Criteria that need to be met for joining the OPN Specialized program. It offers a consolidated view on business transactions, customer references, and the tests/exams that count towards meeting the competency criteria.

Every new released Oracle Certification goes through a beta cycle, an evaluation process to ensure that partners are taking relevant certification. Passing a beta exam is the same as passing a production exam. Oracle Certification Beta Exams can be easily identified as their IDs begin with "1Z1", while Oracle Certification Production Exam IDs begin with "1Z0".

Oracle is actively building/developing new Specialist tests/exams and these will be added as soon as available. For the estimated time of delivery, please refer to the Specialization Competency Readiness part of this guide.

4 The Competency Criteria covers the tests/exams designed to qualify partners ‘skills in four roles: Sales, PreSales, Support, and Implementation.

The Sales, PreSales and select Support tests are online and earn an Oracle Sales/PreSales/Support Specialist credential. Select Support and Implementation exams are in-class and earn a Certified Implementation/Support Specialist credential. This guide shows for each Specialization the available Oracle Specialist tests/exams as well as the acceptable Oracle Champion accreditations that count towards the competency criteria for individual Specializations. Only a select number of Oracle Champion accreditations are acceptable for the new program and have to be earned prior to the launch of the Specialization(s) - see below the last acceptable date. Partners that make use of their champion accreditation(s) to receive credit towards Specialization have a 12-month grace period to attain the Specialist credentials.
