CCM.F-K4.a, CCM.F-K4.b and APMP.M.F-K4.b Key comparisons CCM.F-K4.a, and CCM.F-K4.b MEASURAND : Force
NOMINAL VALUES : 2 MN and 4 MN Dates of measurements : 2004 - 2005
Measurements in key comparisons CCM.F-K4.a and CCM.F-K4.b were carried out according to the protocol explained starting page 3 of the Final Report.
Transducers 1 and 2, of 5 MN capacity and 4 MN capacity, respectively, were used for measurements in CCM.F-K4.a, and Transducers 3 and 4, of 2 MN capacity and 2.22 MN capacity, respectively, for measurements in CCM.F-K4.b.
Detailed results of measurements obtained with the four transducers are reported in Tables 2, 3 and 4 of the Final Report.
Note that PTB is involved twice: as PTB(1) corresponding to their 16.5 MN-K-NME machine and PTB (2) corresponding to their 2 MN-K-NME machine.
The measurements are then analysed and concatenated in order to provide one set of measurements for 2 MN forces involving all participants, and one set of measurements for 4 MN forces involving all participants but GUM and PTB (2).
Key comparison APMP.M.F-K4.b
MEASURAND : Force NOMINAL VALUE : 2 MN
Dates of measurements : 2005 - 2007
Measurements in key comparison APMP.M.F-K4.b were carried out according to the scheme explained in section 2 of the Final Report. Transducers 1 and 2 of 2 MN capacity were used for the measurements in APMP.M.F-K4.b.
Detailed results of measurements obtained with the two transducers are reported in Table 2 of the Final Report.
The measurements are then analysed and concatenated in order to provide one set of measurements for 2 MN force for each of the participants.
This set of results is given in Table 3 of the Final Report, and is expressed as the relative overall deviation of the participants from the pilot laboratory NMIJ, as explained in section 3.5 of the Final Report.
CCM.F-K4.a, CCM.F-K4.b and APMP.M.F-K4.b Key comparisons CCM.F-K4.a, and CCM.F-K4.b MEASURAND : Force
NOMINAL VALUES : 2 MN and 4 MN
For each nominal value of the force, the degree of equivalence of each laboratory i with respect to the key comparison reference value is given by a pair of terms, both expressed in 10-6: Di and Ui, its expanded uncertainty (k = 2).
For each nominal value of the force, the degree of equivalence between two laboratories is given by a pair of terms both expressed in 10-6: Dij = Di - Dj and Uij , its expanded uncertainty (k = 2).
Linking APMP.M.F-K4.b to CCM.F-K4.b MEASURAND : Force
NOMINAL VALUE : 2 MN
Two analysis approaches for calculating key comparison reference values have been used, one employing a classical consensus mean analysis (see on page 19 of the Final Report) and the other based on weighted mean calculations (see on page 31 of the Final Report). Reasonable correlation in the conclusions for individual transducers is seen between the two approaches.
The weighted mean approach is extended to yield a key comparison reference value for each of the two force values from the combined data from all of the associated transducers.
