Safety management has been a explicit subject in the field of nuclear technology since 2002. TÜV SÜD’s symposiums on “Safety management in nuclear technology” have from the outset offered a forum for institutions and people who participate in operating safe, secure nuclear power plants to discuss their experiences with safety management.
The legal background conditions have changed, so new challenges for safety management systems during
post-operational and dismantling phases have been added to the usual efforts to make continuous improvements to safety management systems in plants that are operational. Both aspects will be considered during the Symposium.
The objective of the Symposium is to
support the continuous improvement process for safety management systems while plants are operational
increase familiarity with current trends and new approaches and tools
reflect international experience with using safety manage-ment systems
pinpoint and discuss new challenges, approaches, and tools for using safety management systems during the post- operational phase and decommissioning and dismantling work
The Symposium is intended

Technical and academic institutions
