1. Introduction

The Sense Config PC App is an easy to use tool for fully configuring Omni-ID Sense IoT products using a Sense Config PC NFC Tool.

Specific configurable parameters vary depending on the device being configured but typical examples include:

Device awake/asleep, beacon rates, sensor thresholds, network setting, beacon profiles etc.

The app can be used to configure all other settings such as beacon rates and Sensor thresholds.

For details of specific of configurable parameters please review specific device user guide.

2. Firmware

The Sense Config PC App is required to read preconfigured values and to write configurable values to NFC Memory of the following Sense Devices:

• Sense Locate Position • Sense Locate Kinetic • Sense Condition Distance • Sense Condition Alert • Sense Locate Shield

*Firmware compatibility:

• Sense Locate Position: 2.1.3 and above • Sense Locate Kinetic: 2.1.4 and above • Sense Condition Distance: 10.2 and above • Sense Condition Alert: 10.2 and above • Sense Locate Shield: 1.3 and above

*Sense Config PC App autodetects the device type if the device is loaded with compatible firmware. For older firmware versions the user is required to choose the device type from the home page.

3. Home page

3.1. Connect the Sense Config PC NFC Tool to your PC via USB A to B Cable.

3.2. Open the Sense Config PC App. 3.3. Select ‘Connect’.

3.4. Put the Sense Device on the Sense Config PC NFC Tool where the NFC Logo shows the position of the NFC Antenna.

4. Sense Locate Position

4.1. To configure a Sense Locate Position device:

4.1.1. Put the Sense Locate Position device on the NFC Tool where the NFC Logo shows the position of the NFC Antenna.

4.1.2. Select ‘Validate Tag Type’. 4.1.3. Select ‘Sense Locate Position’.

NOTE: The tag type will automatically be detected for tags with newer firmware installed.

4.1.4. The Sense Config PC App will display the following screen.

4.1.5. Select ‘Read MacAddress’ to display the MacAddress of the tag.

4.1.6. Select ‘Read Settings’ to read current tag Settings. These will be displayed in the right column.

4.1.7. Select new values from the drop-down lists as required in the left column. Select ‘Write Settings’ to save settings to the tag.

NOTE: The ‘Write Settings’ button shows green if successful or red if unsuccessful.

4.2. To add new LoRa settings: 4.2.1. Select ‘Add new Keys’.

4.2.2. Enter new values in field titled “APP EUI” (16 HEX Charaxters-8 Bytes). 4.2.3. Enter new values in filed titled “APP Key” (32 HEX Characters-16 Bytes).

4.2.4. If values in field 1 match with values in confirmation field, then both fields go green otherwise one stays pink indicating that values do not match in two fields. Field 1 Confirmation Field Confirmation Field Field 1

5. Sense Locate Kinetic

5.1. To configure a Sense Locate Kinetic device:

5.1.1. Put the Sense Locate Kinetic device on the NFC Tool where the NFC Logo shows the position of the NFC Antenna.

5.1.2. Select ‘Validate Tag Type’. 5.1.3. Select ‘Sense Locate Kinetic’.

NOTE: The tag type will automatically be detected for tags with newer firmware installed.

5.1.4. The Sense Config PC App will display the following screen.

5.2. To choose a Beacon profile: 5.2.1. Select the Beacon type:

5.2.2. The Sense Config PC App has preset iBeacon and Eddystone values, these values can be changed to suit user requirements:

• iBeacon = iBeacon UUID(32 HEX Characters-16 Bytes), Major Number(4 HEX Characters-2 Bytes), Minor Number(4 HEX Characters-2 Bytes) • Eddystone = Eddystone UUID(20 HEX Charecters-10 Bytes),

Instance(12 HEX Characters-6 Bytes)

5.2.3. Enter new values as required and select ‘Write Settings’ to save settings to the tag.

6. Sense Condition Distance

6.1. To configure a Sense Condition Distance device:

6.1.1. Put the Sense Condition Distance device on the NFC Tool where the NFC Logo shows the position of the NFC Antenna.

6.1.2. Select ‘Validate Tag Type’.

6.1.3. Select ‘Sense Condition Distance’.

NOTE: The tag type will automatically be detected for tags with newer firmware installed.

8.1. To configure a Sense Locate Shield device:

8.1.1. Put the Sense Locate Shield device on the NFC Tool where the NFC Logo shows the position of the NFC Antenna.

8.1.2. Select ‘Validate Tag Type’. 8.1.3. Select ‘Sense Locate Shield’.

NOTE: The tag type will automatically be detected for tags with newer firmware installed.
