New Feature Explanation & How‐To Instructions
The navigator is a wonderful tool when you really need to zoom in on areas of a design. This feature allows you to see a preview of your entire design even when you are zoomed in on one area. Then, you can click and drag the preview box around to pan your screen to a different area of the design. Make sure you watch the video on how this feature works. Click here to watch a video on this feature. We added a Redwork Tool to help make it easy for you to convert some images to redwork. To use this feature, you must first load an image as a backdrop (It is best if the image has a border that runs around/throughout the design like seen below). Next, you select the Redwork tool icon and then left mouse click on the outline in the image you want converted to redwork. Click here to watch a video on this feature.Navigator Tool

We have added a really nice thread chart creator into FTC‐U that is very simple to use. You will be able to open thread charts already in the software, Create new thread charts, and import colors from any of the thread charts into a new thread chart. 1 ‐ This is where you name your new color chart. 2 ‐ When you click "New" it will start a new color chart. 3 ‐ If you click "Open" it will allow you to open a thread chart that is saved in the program. 4 ‐ Click "Save" to save a color chart you are working on. 5 ‐ Click "Delete" to delete a color chart you have open. 6 ‐ Click "Import" to import a color into your new chart from an existing color chart. This is very helpful to create your own thread chart when the color/brand already exists in another thread chart. 7 ‐ Click "Add Color" to manually input a new color into a thread chart. 8 ‐ Click "Remove Color" to remove a color from a thread chart. 9 ‐ This is where you add the name of a color you are adding to a thread chart. 10 ‐ This is where you enter the color number of a color you are adding to a thread chart. 11 ‐ This is where you input the "R" or "Red" value for a color you are adding to a thread chart. Please note, it is best to ask the thread manufacturer for the "RGB" values for each color so you can input the correct values for the color to get the correct shade. This is what thread charts are based from. 12 ‐ This is where you input the "G" or "Green" value for a color you are adding to a thread chart. Please note, it is best to ask the thread manufacturer for the "RGB" values for each color so you can input the correct values for the color to get the correct shade. This is what thread charts are based from. 13 ‐ This is where you input the "B" or "Blue" value for a color you are adding to a thread chart. Please note, it is best to ask the thread manufacturer for the "RGB" values for each color so you can input the correct values for the color to get the correct shade. This is what thread charts are based from. 14 ‐ From here you can add a "Hue" value to a color. It is recommended you keep the default of 0.0. 15 ‐ From here you can add "Saturation" to a color. It is recommended you keep the default value of 0.0. 16 ‐ From here you can add "Luminance" to a color. It is recommended you keep the default value. Click here to watch a video on this feature.

The new split satin feature is a great addition to the FTC‐U software. This feature is used especially when making a design larger in size. It will allow you to continue to use satin stitches for objects that would otherwise be too wide to do so. The beautiful thing about how this works in FTC‐U is that it will split the satin as many times as needed to maintain the maximum stitch length input. To apply a split to a satin stitch all you need to do is select it and then click on the "Split" properties box and choose the desired settings. Here is an example for applying a "Random split" satin: In the example above you will notice that when measuring the satin from one side of a column to the other it stated it was 11.1mm wide. When stitching something onto an item that gets worn, it is best not go have satin stitches wider than 7.0mm. So, in the "Random Split Satin" example you will notice the satin stitch is randomly split so that the stitch length isn't so wide. In the screenshot showing the properties box you will see that the minimum stitch length is set at 1.4mm and the maximum stitch length is set at 7.0mmm. With this setting the satin stitch will not contain stitches less than 1.4mm wide or stitches wider than 7.0mm wide. To help you maintain the same distance between objects in a design we added the Distribute Horizontally and Distribute Vertically. To use this feature simply select all the objects you want to maintain the same distance between and then click either icon. See example below.

The We are very excited to bring you an excellent Batch Conversion tool in FTC‐U. This feature will allow you to select designs in a folder and convert them to numerous file formats in a couple clicks of a button. To access this features, either click the new icon or select Tools‐>Batch Converter. A ‐ Click here to select the folder on your computer that contains the designs you want to batch convert B ‐ Click here to select the folder where you want the designs to be saved to. If you want them in the same folder make sure you check the box "Save in Source Folder" listed in the options. When that boxed is checked, the target folder option is greyed out. C ‐ Click this box if the folder you are selecting to back convert has additional folders with designs inside of it that you also want batch converted. D ‐ Click this box if you want the designs you batch convert placed inside the same folder as the original designs. E ‐ Click this box if you want to make sure all files replaced if they already exist in the target folder. F ‐ The folder you select to batch convert from can contain many different format types. If you want to focus on one format time to convert from (recommended) select the format from the list. G ‐ This is where you select all the formats you need the designs converted to. This is a great option as you can save multiple formats of a design at the same time. H ‐ When you have all the options selected as desired, click Start to have the designs converted. Click here to watch a video on this feature. Sometimes you just want to write some notes to yourself about a design so you don't forget some important detail you need to remember. We added into this build the Design Notes feature. The Design Notes box shows up in the properties box when nothing is selected in a design. So if you don't see the design notes make sure you click off the design with the Selection tool to make sure nothing is selected and you will see the Design Notes box appear in the properties area.

We all love to print our design out onto Template Tearaway, Appli‐Kay Wonder Sheets, and Wet N Gone Sheets but sometimes it was difficult to see the crosshairs on top of the design. Because these really help you line things up we added the ability to print the design with thicker crosshairs. You can access this in the settings for Print Preview. We have added a number of keyboard shortcuts into to this build of the software. In all we have added 39 for this build. Below is a description of the shortcuts added:
