UNITY SOFTWARE MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS
This document details the minimum requirements for correct operation of the following Unity Voice software applications:

Unity Software Internet Connectivity Requirements:
It is strongly recommended that certain ports are opened to allow the applications to
communicate with the Redcentric Hosted PBX:
HTTP/S ports 80 and 443
TCP/UDP ports 2208 and 2209
LDAP port 389
LDAP over SSL port 636
Unity PC Assistant Toolbar
The requirements listed here are the minimum requirements for proper Assistant behavior. It is strongly recommended that computer systems intending to run Assistant have capabilities that exceed these.
Platform Requirements:
Assistant-Enterprise is deployed on the Microsoft Windows platform and/or Citrix Presentation Server platform and interworks with BroadWorks.
NOTE: Some features require a specific version of the BroadWorks platform to be available. The platform requirements include:
Internet Explorer and Outlook COM-Add-in access Firefox Add-on access
NOTE: Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Firefox add-ons can occasionally cause interoperability issues with the Unity Assistant application. This occurs when the execution of other add-ons interferes with that of the Assistant. Redcentric recommends uninstalling all add-ons and re-installing them one by one to isolate any add-on that might be causing an issue.
Hardware Requirements:
Unity Assistant is a toolbar within Microsoft’s Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla’s Firefox, and hardware requirements are determined by the needs of these products.
Software Requirements:
The software requirements include:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Citrix Presentation Server 3,4, or 6 − Starting with Release 18.0 MB14, Windows 8 is supported.
Windows Installer 2.0
IIS web server is supported for silent updates
NOTE: Unity Assistant works only with the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer.
NOTE: When Firefox is updated to version 21 or later, or from version 21 to an earlier version, Unity Assistant must be re-installed.
NOTE: When Assistant – Enterprise runs on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 and uses a Firefox browser, User Account Control (UAC) must be set to “Never notify”.
Citrix Presentation Server Platform:
The application can be published on a Citrix server via the Management Console for MetaFrame Citrix ICA Client Workstation Platform:
Unity Meet Me Outlook Plugin
Conferencing Moderator Client
The Conferencing Moderator client is a client application for conference moderators to manage the
conference through a web - based user interface. The client has a visually intuitive interface for managing the conference and participants.
The following web browsers are supported: Internet Explorer 8 through 9 Firefox 3.6 through 27 Software Requirements:
The Conferencing Moderator client requires a web browser to open the user interface.
Meet-Me Conferencing Add-in for Microsoft Outlook:
Meet Me Plugin is compatible with Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2010
NOTE: The add-in is only supported in 32-bit versions of Outlook. Outlook 2010 64-bit is not a supported environment.
Third Party Software Requirement:
To run the Meet-Me Conferencing Outlook Add-in, the user has to have the Office Primary Interoperability Assemblies (PIA), available from the Microsoft official website, installed on their computer.
Install Primary Interoperability Assemblies for Microsoft Office 2003. The Office 2003 PIA can be installed either during or after Microsoft Office 2003 installation. It requires Microsoft .Net Framework Version 1.1.
NOTE: The Meet-Me Conference button appears on the Outlook toolbar only when the user is creating or editing a meeting.
Unity Receptionist (Desktop)
Unity Receptionist is deployed on a Microsoft Windows platform and/or Citrix Presentation Server platform.
Hardware Requirements
Microsoft Windows Platform:
The hardware requirements for the Microsoft Windows platform include: 1.2 GHz or higher Pentium 3 or compatible CPU
512 megabytes(MB) of RAM recommended minimum; more memory generally improves performance
60 MB available hard disk space
Video graphics card with minimum of 8 MB of RAM Super VGA monitor (15 inches or larger)
1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution HTTP(s) connectivity
Citrix Presentation Server:
The hardware requirements for the Citrix Presentation Server include: 2.0 GHz or higher Pentium 4 or compatible CPU

Browser JavaScript Requirements:
JavaScript must be enabled on Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer.
Click the Tools button.
From the drop-down list, select Internet Options. Select the Security tab.
Select the Internet Zone. Click the Custom level...button.
In the Scripting category, select the Enable button for the Active Scripting sub category. In the Scripting category, click the Enable button for the Allow status bar updates via script sub
category.
Click the Yes button when prompted with a message box asking, Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?
Click OK in the Internet Options dialog Security tab. Close and restart Internet Explorer
Licensing:
Receptionist–Enterprise = Maximum 200 (configurable up to 1,000 using CLI) Statically Monitored Users Receptionist–Small Business = Maximum 30 Statically Monitored Users
Receptionist–Office = Maximum 8 Statically Monitored Users
Limitations
In Firefox, the window running Receptionist does not focus on incoming calls.
Receptionist must be the only tab open when running Internet Explorer. Otherwise, the focusing window on incoming calls on call notification pop-up, toasts do not work.
Due to technical limitations of Internet Explorer, the workspace preferences work only in Firefox. The maximum number of calls that can be displayed for each queue in the Queued Calls pane with no
performance impacts varies depending on the web browser: In Internet Explorer 8, the maximum number is 50 calls.
In Safari 5.0, Firefox (all supported versions), and Internet Explorer 9, the maximum number is 100 calls.
Unity Call Centre (Desktop)
Unity Receptionist is deployed on a Microsoft Windows platform and/or Citrix Presentation Server platform.

To view reports,JavaScript must be enabled for Internet Explorer. The following instructions are for Internet Explorer 8.0:
Open Internet Explorer. Click the Tools button.
From the drop-down list, select Internet Options. Select the Security tab.
Select the Internet Zone. Click the Custom level...button.
In the Scripting category, select the Enable button for the Active Scripting sub category. In the Scripting category, click the Enable button for the Allow status bar updates via script sub
category.

Internet Explorer Settings for Full Screen Mode
Internet Explorer needs to be configured as follows to enable the Full Screen link in Call Center. Otherwise, the link has no effect; Call Center is not displayed in full-screen mode when the Full Screen link is clicked and no error message is displayed to the user.
On the Internet Explorer Menu bar,select the Tools menu and then click Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box,click the Security tab and then click the Custom level...button In the Security Settings – Internet Zone dialog box, scroll down to Initialize and script ActiveX controls
not marked as safe for scripting setting in the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section. Select Enable or Prompt.
Firefox Settings Quick Link Navigation
The following settings are required in Firefox for quick link navigation to work. If these settings are not configured, Call Center does not change focus from the Dashboard to the main application window when the user clicks on a quick link.
On the Firefox Menu bar,select the Tools menu, and then click Options. In the Options dialog box, click the Content tab.
Click the Advanced button,to the right of the to Enable JavaScript check box.
In the Advanced JavaScript Settings dialog box, check the Raise or lower windows box Restart Firefox.
Licensing
In addition, the following licenses may be required:
To access Speed Dial Contacts, users require the following services: Speed Dial 8, and/or Speed Dial 100 To view call logs and calls from Call History ,users require the following services: Basic Call Logs-or-Enhanced Call Logs
To record calls, users require the Call Recording service license.
Limitations
The window running Call Center does not focus on incoming calls in Firefox.
Call Center must be the only tab when running in Internet Explorer. Otherwise, the focusing window on incoming calls and Call Notification pop-up toasts does not work.
The browser window running Call Center should be at least 1024 pixels x 768 pixels in size. Due to technical limitations of Internet Explorer, workspace preferences work only in Firefox.
Moreover, Firefox (all supported versions) does not provide a standard API to re-size a window without opening a new window. Therefore, saving workspace settings for the main application window size does not work in Firefox.
In Firefox, Call Center exits from full-screen mode when it loses focus. The URL icon (favicon) may not work properly with Internet Explorer 8
The maximum number of calls that can be displayed for each queue in the Queued Calls pane with no performance impacts varies depending on the web browser:
In Internet Explorer 8, the maximum number is 50 calls.
In Safari 5.0,Firefox (all supported versions), and Internet Explorer 9, the maximum number is 100 calls. If more calls are in a queue than the specified maximum, the client application performance is impacted. Some calls may not be displayed and/or some queue functionality may become inoperable.
In Chrome, both the main window and Dashboard can be launched in full-screen mode at the same time.
Quick Link Navigation
In Chrome, it is not possible to navigate to the main interface from the Dashboard by clicking an agent or queue link. However, the main window performs the required actions in the Agents directory and the Queue panel for the agent quick link and the queue quick link respectively.
Unity Desktop Softphone (Windows and Mac)
Unity Desktop Softphone is deployed on a Microsoft Windows platform and/or a Mac OSX platform.
Hardware Requirements:
Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X Platform
The hardware requirements for the Microsoft Windows platform include:
1.4 GHz or higher Intel Core 2 Duo processor or compatible CPU. Pentium Quad core or equivalent for HD video
1 gigabytes(GB) of RAM recommended minimum; more memory generally improves performance. 2 gigabytes(GB) of RAM minimum for HD video
125 MB available hard disk space
For voice calls, a sound card, speakers and a microphone or a headset are required For video calls, a web camera is required
