Unattended access must be configured with administrative rights for Dolphin Support two weeks prior to the 1st training. Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is free and can be configured to allow access to the server to all PC’s on the LAN running Dolphin. Hi-Speed Internet access is required (DSL equivalent).

If Remote Desktop Services is needed for remote locations or thin clients, in a SBS network, a separate server is recommended. Windows Server 2008 Standard R2 or Windows Server 2012 Standard is supported.

2014. MS SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition is included in MS-Small Business Server 2011 Premium Edition. Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express is acceptable for up to 10 concurrent users or less. All appropriate Service Packs should be loaded.

The performance of Dolphin software may be impacted if SQL Server Express is installed due to the SQL Server limitations of only dedicating 1GB of RAM and 1 processor to SQL Server processing.

The minimum hardware and software requirements for running Dolphin Management are listed in the following tables. We highly recommend that you consult your local Information Technology (IT) specialist for more information. We want to assist in taking your practice to the latest and best in management software. Microsoft Word is needed if you use the Dolphin Letter System (DLS). We are compatible with Office 2003, 2007, 2010, and 2013 32-bit - Home and Business or Professional editions. If you are running a 64-bit edition of the Windows Operating System you may still use Office 32-bit edition. If you are using DLS under Windows 7 or 8, we don’t support Office 2003.

NOTES:

Office 365 subscriptions require desktop versions of MS Word installed. Installation of Office in a Terminal Server configuration may require volume licensing. See Microsoft for details.

Thin Clients

Thin Client/ Remote Desktop Services is an acceptable alternative to using PCs as workstations. You can purchase thin client machines or use older PCs as

terminal server clients.

Remote Office Configuration (connecting to the main office)

• Dolphin Management must be connected via Remote Desktop Services

• Dolphin management is not supported running through a WAN directly.

• If you plan to capture images from the remote office a local PC and a VPN is required.

• For sites with 10 or fewer simultaneous remote connections, one server running Windows Server 2008 Standard R2 and SQL Server 2008 Standard is

acceptable. We recommend 128MB RAM dedicated to each remote connection.

• For sites with more than 10 simultaneous remote connection, we recommend two servers. One Server running Small Business Server 2008 Premium

and one server running Windows Server 2008 Standard R2 or Windows Server 2012 Standard with 128MB RAM allocated for each remote connection.

Broadband Speeds

Dolphin cannot guarantee full compatibility with all TWAIN compatible scanners Be aware the resolution of documents scanned greatly affects disk space used. Scan as JPG or PDF rather than BMP or TIFF.

Fingerprint Scanner Digital Persona U. are. U Platinum 4000B (Model Number: 82142-001) and 4500 (Model Number: 88003-001) are the supported finger print scanner.
