EXTRA HDD BAY 1

EXPLANATION OF GRAPHICAL SYMBOLS

This symbol is intended to alert the user to the presence of unprotected

“dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be strong enough to cause a risk of electric shock persons.

This symbol is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing)

instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

■ There is possibility of electric shock inside of the EXTRA HDD BAY. Please avoid opening the unit, if you are not qualified service personnel.

■ Use the EXTRA HDD BAY in the reference temperature and the humidity in the specification.

■ While the EXTRA HDD BAY is under removing, storing or using, please avoid any vibration, drop or strike.

■ Do not store under the direct sunlight or near by heating.

■ Avoid dropping any electrifiable unit into the holes for circulating air.

■ Before connect the power cord, please select correct voltage, whether 230VAC or 115VAC.

WARNING

■ When the EXTRA HDD BAY is operating with the DVR, do not pull out the power cord, cap cord and any of cables. In case of top cover opening or any purpose needed to be power off, turn the power switch off at the front panel of DVR first, and then pull out the electric cord and other cables. If not, the recorded data can be lost and the system can not be worked again properly.

■ In case of HDD exchanging due to HDD damage, exchange it to the same place and

do the same connection.

◈ LED INFORMATION

When the power of DVR is turned on, ○ 2 POWER LED will be on and ○ 1 ACCESS LED will be off and then each number of HDD LEDs will be on and off in green color and then in red color in the order of HDD No. 1 to No.10. And then All HDD LEDs will be on and off in orange color.

* LED in Green color.

1. Green LED will be on when a HDD is properly installed.

2. Green LED will be off when playback.

* LED in Red color.

1. Red LED will be on when a HDD error happened.

2. Red LED will be off during recording.

* LED in Orange color

1. LED will be on and off in green and then orange color when backup.

2. Orange LED will be off when recording and playback.

◈ INSTALLATION PROCESS.

1. Turn the power of DVR off 2. Install HDDs into HDD BAY.

3. Connect the USB 2.0 cable and the Grounding conductor between DVR and Extra HDD Bay.

4. Connect the 68pins SCSI cable between DVR and Extra HDD Bay.

5. Connect the each power cord to DVR and HDD Bays.

6. Turn the power of DVR on

♦ HDD INSTALLATION PROCESS

NOTE

This HDD BAY is recommended to install 10pcs of HDD in initial installation.

When the EXTRA HDD BAY is operating with the DVR, do not pull out the power cord, cap cord and any of cables. In case of top cover opening or any purpose needed to be power off, turn the power switch off at the front panel of DVR first, and then pull out the electric cord and other cables. If not, the recorded data can be lost and the system can not be worked again properly.

In case of HDD exchanging due to HDD damage, exchange it to the same place and do the same connection.

1. Opening the top case

Screw down 2 points at the left side of top cover

Screw down 3 points at the back side of top cover

Hold the back side of top case and lift it up straddling its wings as indicated.

2. Taking out the HDD power cable and 40pins flat cable

Pull out the HDD power cable (2 points)

Pull out the 40pins flat cable ( 5 points )

The Picture is as above after taking out the cables.

3. Taking out the HDD supporter

Turn the HDD BAY over. The 20 points of screws are tied up between bottom case and 5pcs of HDD supporter.

Screw down 20 points.

Turn over the HDD BAY again as indicated direction.

Pull out the HDD supporters of 01, 03 to the indicated direction and take them out.

Pull out the HDD supporters of 02, 04, 05 to the indicated direction and take them out.

(Caution: Take care the PCB damage when pulling out)

4. Assembling the HDD to the HDD supporter

Mount the HDD to the HDD supporter as above.

Mount the HDD to the HDD supporter as above

Screw up between HDD supporter and HDD (4points of both side)

Refer to the setting position on the surface of HDD

The upper HDD is set as “master” and below HDD is set as “slave”.

Refer to the “JUMPER SETTING” information on the HDD.

Note the sliding hole at the bottom case.

Note the sliding pin of HDD supporter will be jointed into the sliding hole at the bottom case.

Joint the HDD supporters of 02, 04, 05 through the sliding holes of the bottom as indicated direction.

Joint the HDD supporters of 01,03 to the bottom as indicated direction.

Turn over the HDD BAY as indicated direction.

Screw up 20points.

7. Top case closing

Hold the back side of top case and put it down straddling its wings as indicated.

And screw up 7points.
