2. General

The service cable (SHEV-USB-100) is used for visuali-zation of operating states and messages. The Shev® 3, respectively the Shev® 6 can be connected via the

serv-ice cable with laptop/computer and the messages can be issued.

3. Installation

3.1. Driver overview

3.2. Install driver for Windows XP

Connect the USB-100 with the USB interface on your computer.

The assistant for searching of new hardware starts automatically.

Choose „Yes, this time only“ by clicking on the circle at the front. Then a black item appears in it.

Click on „Next“.

Attention!

According to the version of the operating system or computer configuration the messages can differ from the representations.

For the installation of the driver, the CD has to be in the device.

Choose “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”.

Click on “Next”.

---Please check if the highlighted figures in the window are choosen.

Click on “Next”.

Now the software is going to be searched.

Now the software is going to be installed.

Click on “Finish” to finish the assistant Now the software is installed.

3.3. Setup Program Hyperterminal

Click on the button “Start”. Then choose:

All Programs

Accessories Communications HyperTerminal

and click on Hyperterminal.

As necessary the program can be set as a standard Telnetprogram. For that purpose click on “Yes”. If you do not want to be asked again, click on the button in front of “Don‘t ask me this question again”. If the button is activated, click on “Yes”.

The program hyperterminal is nonexistent at Windows Vista. Vista Users have to use an external Terminal program.

Now enter the name of the connection (for example: SHEV-USB-100).

And allocate any symbol to the connection by clicking (see Picture 12: "").

Approve the adjustments by clicking “OK”.

Approve the COM device by clicking “OK”.

---Set up Baudrate of 9600 bits per second. By clicking on the bolt beside the window and choosing the 9600 in the opening menu. Check the following values:

Data bits: 8

Parity: None

Stop bit: 1

Flow control: Hardware

Click on “OK” to resume the values.

The number of the COM-Port can vary and depends on the already installed COM ports.

To finish installation, now click on the button “Disconnect”.

---Open menu item “File” and click on “Saving”. If you want to save this connection for a faster access on the desktop act as follows.

3.4. Generate connection (Icon) on the desktop Open menu item “File” and click on “Open”.

Click on the file name SHEV-USB-100.ht by holding right mouse button.

Highlight in the opening menu “Send to” and click on “Desktop (create shortcut)”.

Close all opened windows

4. Instruction

Connect the service cable (SHEV-USB-100) with the USB interface on your computer.

Start the program Hyperterminal.

Connect the service cable (SHEV-USB-100) with the pin 1 on the SHEV®.

Connect by pushing the icon “Call”.

Every three seconds a report respectively operating state is passed.

If there is no failure the message “SHEV OK” is indicated.

5. Messages

Following messages are formed automatically depend-ing on the operatdepend-ing state. The description appears bi-lingual:

Lastsicherung ausgeloest / motor fuse failure Ueberlast am Motorkanal / overload motor output Akkuladung nicht freigegeben / backup batteries charging circuit not unlocked

Ueberlast Handausloesetaster / overload emergency button

Ueberlast Rauchmelder / overload smoke detector
