A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required.
The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirnechi dell'Etna, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, and Norrbottenspets (Misc.).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breed may be judged on the table or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Cardigan Welsh Corgis.
At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets.
The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4–6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situation to judge any breed. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.
For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds.

The Junior Showmanship Scholarships will be a one-time Scholarship for Post-Secondary education (not necessarily a college). When the Junior enrolls, The Kennel Club of Philadelphia will require enrollment confirmation from the school. ImPoRtANt - TRANSFERS of dogs from regular classes to Best of Breed/Variety Competition (Ch. 11 Section 6, AKC Rules) MUST be made to the Superintendent/Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of any regular conformation judging at this show. TRANSFERS by Junior Handlers from Novice to Open Class or from the Open to Master Class MUST be made to the Superintendent/ Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. SUBSTITUTIONS of Junior Showmanship dogs must be made at least one half hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship classes at the show.

Dogs may Arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges will Not wait for Any Dog holding Up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged.
All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring.
No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog show is conducted.
As specified in chapter 12, section 4 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, information contained on the entry form is required to be published in the club’s show catalog. This information is also subject to publication in other media.
entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the event's Show Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, health emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to, snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.

Filming For TV
Portions of the Saturday show will be filmed for later showing on NBC. A camera man may be in the Group Ring immediately prior to judging. We expect that the show's producers will conduct interviews with breeders, exhibitors and spectators outside the rings and in the benching areas as part of their coverage of the event. Our contract for the filming prohibits any other use of video recorders for commercial purposes.
ALL PURINA AWARDS IF NOT PRESENTED IN THE RING, MUST BE PICKED UP DURING THE EVENT AT THE PURINA BOOTH. PRESENTATION OF THE WINNING RIBBON IS REQUIRED. PURINA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE AWARD SUBSTITUTIONS OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE IF LISTED AWARD IS NOT AVAILABLE.

A bench audit will be conducted. Once inside the building during show hours, no dog may exit until after 5:00 P.m. on saturday or 3:30 P.m. on sunday. Dogs present must be on their assigned benches, except for the necessary periods when they are actually being prepared for showing, or are being shown, or are in the exercise pen, or are being taken to or from these places. This will be enforced! Violations of this notice will be subject to action by the Event Committee, which may result in cancellation of the dog's winnings and subject the owner or handler to further action by the American Kennel Club.

The Philadelphia style benching concept was conceived by former Kennel Club of Philadelphia President, L. Stewart Cochrane to make the benched show more comfortable, convenient and attractive to all exhibitors and spectators.
Note: There will be No separate grooming areas. All grooming will be done at the assigned benches. There will be No private exercise pens in benching area. Exercise pens will be provided in the bench rows as well as large exercise pens at several locations. There may be some room in Hall E for private exercise pens if needed. Plastic for the floor shavings and clean up will be the responsibility of exhibitor.
1. All dogs entered by an owner/exhibitor or agent/handler can be benched together. If you are an exhibitor/agent and you wish to have all your dogs benched together, you MUST make a request in writing. This request MUST include your name(s), MB-F Agent’s Number, the AKC registration number, and breeds of those dogs you want benched together. This request MUST be received by the Superintendent prior to the closing of entries. A form was included on page 29 of the premium list for your convenience. multi-breed benching requests must have the same ownership or handler name and number.
2. All exhibitors and agents will be permitted to have their grooming equipment only immediately in front of their respective benches. There will be no separate areas for grooming or crates. Stacking of crates on benches will not be permitted, except in the case of Toy Breeds. By order of the Fire Marshal, crates will not be permitted in any aisle, at any ring or on any floor space. All crates MUST be on the benching. Private exercise pens will NOT be permitted in the Building.
3. Bench numbers will not be permitted to be changed or altered in any manner.
4. All dogs must be benched in accordance with “Notice to all Exhibitors” above.once a dog is admitted into the show building it cannot leave until the normal release time when benching hours are concluded each day.
This will be strictly enforced by the Superintendent and the Event Committee.
5. The Superintendent will provide Handlers/Agents in the Multi-Breed sections only with name signs on their benches and rows for quick identification of their benching area.
6. electricity for grooming will be provided by the Kennel club of Philadelphia, Inc. However, only one appliance can be connected to each outlet at one time. Additional appliances on a single circuit will cause an overload. Exhibitors will be charged to reactivate a circuit.
PHILADELPHIA BENCHING ~ BOTH DAYS
by order of the fire marshal, crates will not be allowed in the aisles of benching or show sections of the shows. Space will be provided in the benching section for the cleaning and preparation of dogs for exhibition. Grooming tables in excess of 24'' x 36'' will not be permitted. Tables must be folded when not in use. The grooming of dogs in areas other than the benching area is not permitted either day. NO PRIVATE EXERCISE PENS WILL BE PERMITTED BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. & 6:00 P.M. These Regulations will be strictly enforced.

The theme for decoration should be presentation of the purpose for the breed. Preliminary Judging will be during benching hours on Saturday. Final Judging and Awards will be during benching hours on Sunday. Dog must be entered on both days in order to be eligible.
All bench decorations must be fireproof (By order of the Fire Department).
exhibitors will not be allowed to use nails or screws or stapling guns in decorating their benches. The use of safety pins is permissible. Unsightly and objectionable advertising matter will not be allowed on the benches.
handbills, circulars or any other printed material may not be distributed or placed on the benches at this show.
NOTICE ~ General Regulations
* Participants & visitors must respect the authority of both the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and the Show Officials. * Any arguing, abusive language or failure to follow rules or directions of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center or the Event Committee will result in ejection from the show grounds, forfeiture of all parking privileges and/or an Event Committee Hearing without refund of fees.
* No Flexi-leads in the building. No strollers in the building.
* The Kennel Club of Philadelphia, Inc. will not be held responsible for any accidents that occur to any person, animal, property, or vehicle. The exhibitor shall hold the Event Committee harmless and indemnify it against any legal pro-ceeding arising from any accident.
The show buildings are designated as No smoKING areas. The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center will strictly enforce this regulation. Please cooperate.
Prime Parking will be available for $10.00 per day (pay at gate). It will have easy access to the building for unloading.
building Access - The building will be available for exhibitor setup (vehicle access Wednesday only) beginning at 5:00 P.m. until 10:00 P.m. The building will be locked between 11:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. each night. No one will be allowed access to the building between these hours. Exhibitors may enter the building until 11:00 P.m. thursday, friday, & saturday.
Dogs may be removed from the building for exercising between 5:00 P.m. & 11:00 P.m.sAtURDAY. Proper identifica-tion is necessary. Security guards will be on duty every day.
No private ex-pens or mats/rugs in the grooming area during show hours.
No videotaping or flash cameras will be allowed at ringside without prior approval of the Event Committee.
Dogs owned or co-owned by club officers, show chairperson, Judges' hospitality chairperson & AKc Delegate or their immediate families will not be exhibited at this show.

PARKING
After unloading, vehicles must be removed promptly from the loading dock area. Unload only in designated areas or risk being ticketed.

Overnight parking is a privilege extended by the club(s) to its exhibitors. Failure to follow the instructions of officials on duty will result in forfeiture of parking privileges without refund of fees paid and the possibility of disciplinary action determined by the Event Committee. Parking is strictly at the exhibitor's risk as the club(s) accept no responsibility for theft, damage or loss of personal property or the loss of or injury to animals in the care of exhibitors at this event.
As a courtesy, please do not operate generators between 11:00 P.m. and 6:00 A.m. fire lanes must be kept open at all times.
