4. ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR INDIAN NATIONALS

The procedure for Admission of Candidates in any UG / PG program of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences for Indian Nationals is as below:

Step 1: The Candidate can log on to https://eduserve.karunya.edu/online/admissions/eoi.aspx and submit his / her expression of interest (EOI) online about the course he / she would like to pursue at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences.

Step 2: Once the EOI is received, the Candidate will get an acknowledgement SMS and Email from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences indicating the Application No. and pass code.

Step 3: With the Application No. and pass code, the Candidate can submit his / her online application @ http://karunya.edu/adm/application. The Candidate should upload the following documents while submitting the application Online.

(a) Recent passport sized colour photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) of the Candidate(Size not more than 500 KB in JPEG format)

(b) Signature of the Candidate, in black or dark blue ink on a white paper and to be scanned / digitally photographed (Size not more than 500 KB in JPEG format)

Step 2: Once the EOI is received, the Candidate will get an acknowledgement SMS (not applicable for abroad mobile numbers) and / Email from Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences indicating the Application No. and pass code to apply online.

Step 3: With the Application No. and pass code, the Candidate can submit his / her online application @ http://karunya.edu/adm/application. The Candidate should upload the following documents when he / she submits the application online.

6. PERSONS OF INDIAN ORIGIN (PIO) / OVERSEAS CITIZEN OF INDIA (OCI)

Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) will also be treated on par with Indian Citizens for the limited purpose of admission, if they have studied their eligible course in India and can apply under Indian National Category. However, PIO / OCI Candidates will not be eligible for reservation of any kind.

7. ALL INDIA KARUNYA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION - 2021 (KEE-2021) and KARUNYA MANAGEMENT ADMISSION TEST 2021 (KMAT-2021)

a. Karunya Entrance Examination (KEE-2021) is applicable for allCandidateswho seek admission for B.Tech. and B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / Horticulture programs and Karunya Management Admission Test (KMAT-2021) for candidates who seek admission for M.B.A. program. KEE-2021 and KMAT-2021 will be conducted online.

b. KEE-2021and KMAT-2021 is conducted in English only.Questions for KEE will be covered from the +2 / HSC level subjects namely Mathematics / Biology, Physics, Chemistry & General Aptitude / English proficiency and Christian Values / General Ethics. Questions for KMAT will be covered from Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Current Affairs and Computer Awareness.

c. Questions are of objective type. Each question will have 4 alternate answers. The correct answer has to be chosen and the appropriate oval should be shaded in the OMR answer sheet.

8. EXAMINATION RULES (KEE-2021& KMAT-2021)

1. The duration of the online exam is 60 minutes. The portal will open 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam for Candidates to login.

2. The portal will remain open for only 60 minutes and will automatically close. If Candidates finish the test before the stipulated time, they should EXIT as per the instructions.

3. The exam will be conducted on two slots – 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

4. Candidates are permitted to choose any 2 slots convenient to them. If they are unable to take the exam in the first slot, they can take the exam in the next selected slot.

5. Candidatesmayensure proper internet connectivity and bandwidth. In the event of any unforeseen interruption during the examination, the candidates need not panic as the Examinations platform is programmed to save the questions attempted before any abrupt shutdown. However, such candidates can re-login and continue the Examination within the slot time.

6. The Online Examination User Name and password will be sent separately by e-mail to all the candidates.

9. E - HALL TICKET (APPLICABLE TO B.Tech. and B.Sc.(Hons.) AGRICULTURE / B.Sc. (Hons.) HORTICULTURE and M.B.A.)

9.1. Instructions to the Candidates:

1. Candidates should check the hall ticket and in case of any discrepancy, should immediately report to the Admissions Officer, Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (Deemed to be University), Coimbatore - 641 114, for necessary action (Toll Free: 1800 4254300)

2. Candidates are informed that they are provisionally selected to appear in this Entrance Examination. The permission to appear for the Karunya Entrance Examination -

2021(KEE-2021) is only an enabling provision. The decision of the eligibility of the candidate for admission to a program entirely rests with the admitting authority. 3. The duration of the online test is 60 minutes. The portal will open 15 minutes before the

Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences does not take any responsibility to inform Candidates who have submitted incomplete application. E- Hall Ticket may not be provided for those Candidates. Hence, the Candidates are advised to ensure that the application is complete in all respects before sending the online application.

10. ANNOUNCEMENT OF KEE –2021and KMAT-2021 RESULTS

Karunya Entrance Examination – 2021 (KEE-2021) and Karunya Management Admission Test – 2021 (KMAT-2021) results will be published in theInstitution website (http://admissions.karunya.edu). Those who qualify in KEE-2021and KMAT-2021 will alone be considered for admission in B.Tech., B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticultureand M.B.A. programs respectively.

11. INSTRUCTIONS WITH REGARD TO THE ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION IN KARUNYA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCES

a. It is the responsibility of the Candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualification for admission. Successful generation of E-Hall Ticket does not necessarily mean the acceptance of eligibility by the Institution.

b. The admission offered to a Candidate who has been provisionally admitted to a program will stand cancelled if he / she does not submit the relevant documents in original pertaining to admission (such as Marks Statements, Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, etc.) to the Admissions Office before the date stipulated in the admission offer.

c. Admissions to various programs will however be subject to verification of facts from the Original Certificates / Documents of the Candidates. In case any discrepancy is noticed, even at a later point of time after admission, the Management reserves all right to cancel the Candidate’s Admission and such a decision shall be final and binding on the Candidate.

d. The Candidates should pay the necessary fees before the due date to confirm their admission. Failure to pay complete fees shall result in cancellation of Admission.

12. INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED BY THE CANDIDATES

Candidates are advised to provide correct mobile number / Email ID in the online application for regular updation from the Institution. Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences does not take any responsibility to inform Candidates who have submitted incomplete application. Hence, the Candidates are informed to ensure that the online application is complete in all aspects before sending the same to Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences along-with required document(s) to be uploaded.

13. ONLINE APPLICATION FEE

Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences accepts only online application as per the procedures indicated in Sl. No. 4(Indian Nationals) &5 (NRI & Foreign Nationals). The Candidates are informed to include the application form fee (Rs. 1000 for Indian Nationals / USD 250 for NRI or Foreign Nationals) when they make the first payment to the Institution during the online application process. 14. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

It is mandatory that all the Candidates who apply to Karunya Institute of Technology should meet the eligibility criteria as per the norms of the Institution. If the Candidates do not meet the eligibility criteria, they may not be considered for admission.

15. PAYMENT OF REMAINING FEES

Details of academic fees and hostel fees are available in the Institution website: http://admissions.karunya.edu/. The Candidates can pay the remaining fees online in installments on or before the due date. If they do not pay the required first semester fees online on or before the due date, they may not able to download their enrolment letter to join the institution. Hence, the payment of required first semester fee is mandatory for the Candidates to enrol in the institution. 16. SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS DURING ENROLLMENT PROCESS

The following documents in original along-with two sets of photocopies are required to be submitted at the time of enrolment. The enrolment dates for various programs will be updated in the University website at an appropriate time. The enrolment process will be entertained only for the Candidates who paid the full fees in advance using online payment facilities.

Request for cancellation of admission and refund of fees may be considered as per the following norms. If a student chooses to withdraw from the program of study in which he / she is enrolled / admitted, the following five-tier system for the refund of fees remitted by the student is to be followed.

b) Fees shall be refunded by Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences to an eligible student with-in 15 days from the date of receiving online application from him / her in this regard. c) Failed Candidates / ineligible Candidates are eligible to receive refund after deduction of 5% of

the fees paid by the student, subject to maximum of Rs. 5000/- as processing charges (for Indian Nationals) / USD 250 (for NRI / Foreign Nationals) from the refundable amount.

18. HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

The Institution has 15 separate residences to comfortably accommodate the students in single, double & four seated rooms (as per norms).

 Hostel accommodation is mandatory for all the students who pursue their education at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences campus.

 It is optional for Coimbatore District Residents who possess valid Ration card / Passport / Voter ID.

19. DISCONTINUANCE / WITHDRAWAL FROM THE PROGRAM

A Candidate who desires to leave the Institution after joining the Program will have to submit a ‘No dues’ certificate issued by the Deputy Registrar (Students Affairs). This should be accompanied by the application of withdrawal duly approved by the Registrar.

The original certificates will be returned only on the production of ‘No dues’ certificate in the prescribed form, obtained from Students Affairs Office.

The Candidates who leave the Institution after the commencement of classes will receive the refund of as per the refund policy of the Institution.

20. GENERAL DISCIPLINE

 Every student is required to adhere strictly to the code of conduct of the institution, pay the requisite fees by the due dates, attend their classes regularly and abide by the rules and regulations of the Institution. The students who have not paid the fees before the deadline will be kept in out-of-rolls.

 Every student should follow the Institution’s examination rules and regulations meticulously. Those who don’t follow the Institution examination regulations will be subject to appropriate punishment as per the norms.

 If at any point of time, the conduct and character of a Candidate is not satisfactory or is of a suspicious nature, the management reserves the right, without assigning any reason, to make him/her vacate the hostel or expel him / her from the Institution.

 Ragging of any sort is banned at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences and any violation of this will result in appropriate punishment, which includes expulsion from the institution. For more information, please refer UGC website (www.antiragging.in).
