Multitester LG 1800 / KT 1880
As the first manufacturer SPS electronic GmbH develops a device concept which is unique in the market of safety testing technique.
With 7 tests in one device the LG 1800 is versatile in industry. Whether manufacturer of household appliances, electric tools, motors or calibration laboratories … With this device you can’t go wrong as a user. The test device combines all important safety tests such as earth bond test, insulation test, AC and DC high voltage test, line leakage test, function test and continuity test according to current standards (VDE, EN, IEC, UL, etc.).
Due to the safety current limitation according to EN 50191 no further protective measures such as test hood, two-hand operation or barrier are required.
The safety tester LG 1800 impresses with its simple handling. Particularly important in the production: the DUT is only contacted once and after the start release the automatic test sequence is effected. The time-consuming replugging of the DUT is no longer required and you save time in serial production. Visual text view steps allow the operator user-friendly menu navigation through the entire test sequence. The USB interface allows a storing and standardized protocolling of all parameters and test and measurement results. The programme memory adapts dynamically to the test requirements. Via comfortable WINDOWS software a remote control with the PC is possible.
The device series is completed by the KT 1880 in which all functions are integrated in a 19" plug-in. Especially for installation in automatic test systems this “plug-in variant” has been developed.
High voltage test devices HA 1800 / HA 1880 / Earth bond test device P 1800
These test devices are also available each as pure high voltage test device or earth bond test device. The test devices are ideally suited for a quick, efficient and standardized high voltage or earth bond test and are both optimally applicable at a manual work station as well as in production for piece and serial testing.

The surge voltage test is the only possibility to detect winding short circuits and insulation faults within a winding even before the fault affects the electrical specifications of the DUT. There is no other test method which detects whether the DUT has a pre-existing defect and a failure is the result. By the rapid connection of a charged capacitor to the coil under test the stored energy of the capacitor discharges into the inductor. This results in a sinus-like, damped oscillation. The frequency and the amplitude are typical for the DUT.
Special features
n With a programmable test voltage of
200 - 5000 VDC a surge voltage pulse is generated which does not damage the DUT due to its low power.
n Partial discharges (corona) are shown very
clearly by the high sampling rate of 100 MHz. Thereby the quality of the insulation can be determined qualitatively.
n The ST 1800B allows the testing of
inductances from approximately 10μH. All coils having a greater inductance can be tested with this device.
n Automatic evaluation of:
- error surface
- differential error surface - corona quantity comparison - corona frequency comparison
n The ST 1800B evaluates on the basis of
the established criteria and shows the user a PASS / FAIL result. Thus the application of the device is also possible in production areas with trained test personnel. The surgetester ST 1800B has a memory for 360 DUTs.
The device can be operated via an RS-232 interface in connection with a PC. Thus an application within auto-matic test systems and production lines is possible. The device has an unbeatable price / performance ratio.

Earth bond test probe
One of the most important of all the safety testing operations is the earth bond test. These tests are often performed by hand. In such cases the earth bond test probe is the link between the operator, tester and DUT. The probe will contact the DUT safely and protect the operator.
