BILLING & REFUND POLICY

Thank you for your interest in our Wakefield 2020 Summer Camp Program. Please note that payment is required at the  start of camp. For the time being, Wakefield is accepting a deposit for each Summer Program. A $50 deposit will be  required to hold a student’s spot for any Summer Camp, Enrichment Program, and/or Private Lesson, and a $150  deposit will be required for a for-credit course. Once the program begins, the remaining balance is due.

If, for any reason, you are unable to use the online payment system, please email our Auxiliary Program Director at  [email protected], or call the main office at 540-253-7500, for information on how to register by  phone or in-person. Credit cards and cash are accepted forms of payment, however we do not accept personal checks  in our Summer Camp Program.

Refunds will be issued only with advanced notice of cancellation. A non-refundable administrative fee of $25 will be  deducted from the refund amount per student, per camp. Any camps cancelled 30 or more days prior to the start date  will be fully refunded; 29-15 days prior to the start date will be 50% refunded; less than 2 weeks before the start date will  not be refunded.

Private Lessons are subject to a different refund policy. Students may cancel after the first introductory lesson without  financial penalty; they will be refunded the remaining unused sessions, minus a $25 administrative fee. If a student  chooses to cancel their lessons after the second lesson they must pay for the remainder of the sessions. Every effort  must be made to notify the instructor in case of student illness or ailment, if possible, 24 hours in advance. Make-up  lessons will be made for excused, but not unexcused, absences.

CAMPUS SECURITY

PRIVATE LESSONS

(Virtual and/or On-Campus)

This summer Wakefield will offer 5-session and 10-session packages for private lessons lasting 30 minutes each. Our  program will consist of three different areas:

● Academic Tutoring

○ Our faculty and staff are composed of highly educated teachers, able to provide 1:1 tutoring for many  academic subjects and learning support students. Academic Tutoring sessions will help students review,  repair and reinforce prior content, and help prepare students for future subjects in their 2020-2021  school year.

● Music Lessons

○ Wakefield has access to some of the most talented, and friendly musicians in the area. Our private  Music Lessons will help students continue practicing their vocal and instrumental skills, and/or learn a  new instrument. Students returning to our Music Program can also continue their music lessons form  this past school year.

● Personal and Sports Training

○ Athletic students looking for guided direction for their upcoming school sports year can utilize the sports  education and talents of our Physical Education Department with Wakefield’s Personal and Sports  Training sessions. Families seeking a physical outlet for their child(ren)’s energy can also enlist the help  of our trainers, coaches, and Physical Education teachers and have them create a personalized plan for  their physical education.

Students can work with their instructors to set the pace of each 30-minute session, and customize each for the day and   time of their choosing. Wakefield’s private lessons will run the entire Summer, from June 15-August 7, Monday through  Friday, from 9am to 4pm; participants are welcome to schedule their ten lessons whenever and however often they  would like during those times. These lessons will be modified to fit a live virtual platform if students are not able to meet  on-campus or in-person.

Not seeing what you need? Please contact [email protected] and our Auxiliary Director, Carolyn Findler, will  consult our partnership with local tutoring company, Vint Hill, to discuss further options.

RECYCLED ART CAMP

(On-Campus)

Miss Jahayra has created a new summer art club for our four years old through rising second grade students. It is never  too early to teach children what it means to live a healthier, more natural lifestyle, and how to protect our planet. This art  club will focus on how to reduce, reclaim, repurpose, and recycle materials to create beautiful pieces of artwork by  turning “trash” into “treasures”! This art club will run twice this summer; each week, students will complete new art  projects from different recycled materials. This camp is scheduled to run ON CAMPUS in accordance with all state and  federal health and safety standards.

KEEP CALM ON CAMPUS: SESSION 1

(On-Campus Only)

--FILLED

Coach Chisman is back with his popular activity summer camp for rising second through sixth graders! This summer,  this camp will be modified so students can safely stay on-campus and experience different activities to engage their  minds and bodies, while maintaining all social distancing and health safety protocols. Each day, students will

experience water-based adventures, compete in specific sports (like basketball, tennis, tee ball, etc.), exercise drills and  workouts, obstacle courses, and then take breaks by playing on our Wakefield playgrounds. Students will even take a  break from the heat with a movie in our huge lecture hall! “Keep Calm On Campus'' is a great opportunity for students to  explore fun and exciting activities they may not have time to do on their Wakefield Campus during the school year.

Students should wear clothes that can get messy, and pack extra snacks, a lunch, refillable water bottle, and sunscreen.

This camp is scheduled to run ON CAMPUS in accordance with all state and federal health and safety standards.

Enrichment Academics Module 3 (Runs July 13-July 24)  MIGHTY MATH: FRACTIONS

(Virtual Only)

This summer rising fourth through sixth grade students can join Ms. Cyndi Williams for Mighty Math: Fractions. In this  course, students will review and renew their love of math, and learn fractions inside and out! They will aso review and  challenge mastering addition and subtraction of like and unlike fractions, as well as fraction basics. This course is an  excellent review of the math skills students will need for the coming school year, and a great refresher for students who  have had limited math practice this past Spring. This course will only run for one week. This course will only run virtually.

Each day’s session will consist of one hour of live synchronous learning with their instructor, and 30 minutes of  independent asynchronous learning and activities.

All instruction is  directed by Coach Tee Summers, with the help of Coach Chisman and some of the older Varsity Basketball team  members.

One week of basketball camp will provide students with many hours of on-court training, and will run from 9am to noon  each day. This camp will stress the fundamentals of the game and reinforce them during camp games and contests.
