the Pine City Backpack Food Program.

Please drop your donation in the basket lo- cated in the St. Anthony Commons. Thanks!

Prayer Intention Request

If you have a prayer intention you would like Msgr Alek to include during Sunday’s 3:00 PM Rosary, please use one of the small request cards found in a basket located in the St. Anthony Commons. Msgr. Alek will bring these cards to the church the following Sunday to be read and

prayed for. Everyone is invited to join him.

Emergency Disaster Fund Thanks You!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the Diocese of Duluth’s Bishop Emergency Disaster Fund Appeal. These funds will be used to support the efforts of Catholic Charities USA and/or Catholic Relief Services as they respond to the immediate emergency needs for such necessities as water, food, shelter, medical care, and aid in long-term rebuilding and recovery efforts from recent hurricanes, wildfires, and other disasters that occur. Thank you for your support!

World Mission Sunday

THIS weekend embraces World Mission Sunday. We celebrate this day by remembering our baptismal call - to bring the Gospel to all! The collection today for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith supports the work and witness of the Mission Church, as it provides for priests, religious and lay leaders who offer the Lord’s mercy and concrete help to the most vulnerable

communities in the Pope’s missions. Thank you for your generosity.

Annual White Mass

The annual White Mass will be celebrated THIS Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary (2801 East Fourth Street, Duluth) with Fr. James Bissonette presiding. There will be a blessing of health care workers at the Mass. Given the pandemic, there will be no speaker or reception, but people are encouraged to stay after Mass to pray the Rosary for health care workers.

Blood Drive

The Pine City Community Blood Drive is being held Tuesday, October 20th from 11:00am-6:00pm. A bus will be parked at Frandsen Bank & Trust. Blood Donation is by Appointment. Please contact Dave Hill at (320) 267-6025 to Sign Up!

& Retreat Center in Farmington. Visit www.marriages.org for additional information of call 651-454-3238.

Religious Education

DRE: Lynette Forbes-Cardey, 320-629-3911 [email protected]

Religious Education

Elementary Religious Education Sessions and the Hybrid Model: The Pine City Elementary School will begin its Hybrid Model for the Elementary School this week. This will make it challenging for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to get to Religious Education on Wednesdays, since they will not be in the school building on Wednes- days. Our plan to maintain in-person Religious Education for as many students as possible is:

·

1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders continue coming to Religious Ed. directly from school on Wednesdays,

·

4th, 5th, and 6th graders come to Religious Ed. directly from school on either Tuesday or Thursday, whichev- er day of the week they will be in the School Building,

·

No changes to the Jr/Sr High students. They will continue to meet at 6:30 on Wednesday evenings.

Remember--this schedule may need to change, please continue to be patient and flexible as we strive to do the best for the children and youth of our parish!

Registration is Still Open and Required: We are still accepting registrations for Religious Education for children and teens. Packets are available near the entrance of both churches. OR, you can download and print the forms from the Religious Education page of the Parish Website. Forms can be returned to the Parish Office or Religious Education Office; sent via U.S. Mail;

or sent with your child/teen to Religious Education.

Registration is required.

Still need volunteers! Volunteering with Religious Education not only serves the young people of our parish, but volunteers report learning more about and growing closer to Our Lord, His Church, and His People.

If you are able to volunteer as an Elementary Catechist or Assistant OR serve as a Small Group Leader with Jr/Sr High girls, please give Lynette a call or email.

Sacramental Preparation

Confirmation Registration: Reminder! There are still several 11th & 12th Graders whom we are expecting to participate in the Confirmation Preparation, but have not yet registered. Also, teens in 11th Grade are expected to participate in Religious Education on Wednesday nights as well as the Confirmation Preparation Sessions. Here is the link: https://tinyurl.com/y384f37x this will help us plan and communicate for Confirmation Preparation.

Confirmation is scheduled for February 7th, 2021.

Any questions, please call Lynette.

THANK YOU!

To all who helped make the

ICC Rectory

We raised $2,161 for the parish.

Stay tuned for further plans!

GOOD movie!

October 18: The Divine Plan

This movie explores in-depth the pivotal bond between Saint Pope John Paul II and President Ronald Reagan. Surviving strikingly similar near death experiences (attempted assassins just six weeks apart), they confided to each other a shared conviction: that God had spared their lives for the purpose of defeating communism.

October 24: (To Be Determined) Come join us for our final Sunday movie!

Spend your afternoon enjoying fellowship and a really good, current, faith based movie! You will be glad you came!

Please join us each Sunday in October!
