1.04 QUALIFICATIONS
A. Manufacturer shall be ISO 9001 certified with a minimum of three years’ experience in manufacturing digital storage equipment.
B. Installers shall be authorized by the Manufacturer to plan, configure and install the system with further capability in the following areas:
1. Server Hardware/OS
a. Working knowledge of PCIe slot types, slot availability and ability to add appropriate cards when necessary.
b. Familiarity with network connectivity and configuration of NIC cards with regard to IP addressing, teaming, jumbo frames and MTU size.
c. Ability and authorization to add drivers and software components to facilitate the installation of the IP SAN and/or NAS subsystem.
d. Capability to enact a plan for type of storage will be used,( iSCSI, NAS or a combination of NAS and iSCSI).
2) Ability to plan for capacity requirements and the subsequent allocation of logical volumes to network accessed share or block level connected devices, and formatting and
mounting of virtual drives. 2. Network Hardware
a. Clear understanding of the present LAN/WAN infrastructure and how to plan for the addition of NAS and/or SAN storage in an IP environment.
b. Familiarity with LACP and teaming configuration options for Layer2 and 3 managed switches to be used in the implementation of a NAS or SAN.
c. Familiarity with VLAN creation or segmentation of switches to be used in the installation of NAS and/or IP SAN storage.
d. Working knowledge of how to configure network switches or routers to accommodate remote storage for replication transport or remote sites.

1.05 WARRANTY

2.02 DESCRIPTION A. General
1. The unified storage platform (USP) shall be a modular system containing processing and Microsoft Storage Server OS; available in 2RU, 3RU, and 4RU form factors to provide 12 - 24 internal disk drives; and externally expandable for a potential raw capacity of 720 TB.
Note: The Seneca Data 2RU unit is not externally expandable.
2. The USP shall provide SMB and NFS file access as well as IP SAN connectivity. 3. The USP shall support the following types of internal storage drives:
a. SAS - 3 Gb/s and 6 Gb/s b. SATA I, II and III
c. SSD
4. The USP shall have a minimum processing capability of the Intel XEON 3.3.GHz quad core processor.
5. The USP shall have a minimum of 5 GigE NIC connections. 6. The USP shall support RAID caching.
7. The USP shall have dual redundant hot swap power supplies.
8. The USP shall support the latest versions of VMware, Microsoft Windows, Citrix XEN Server, Red Hat Linux as well as any operating system that supports a level 2 or higher iSCSI initiator.
9. The USP OS shall support a graphical user interface allowing configuration of features including volume expansion, storage virtualization, same enclosure mixed tier support, local and area mirroring, remote replication, snapshots and thin provisioning
B. Hardware Components 1. Chassis and Drives
b. The USP chassis shall accommodate up to <12> <16> < 24> 3.5” or 2.5” internal drives.
Note: Size and drive capacity in the above sections refer to the Seneca Data UM2U35, XV-UM3U35, and XV-UM4U35 respectively.

The first and most important level of data protection starts with uninterruptable power. An Uninterruptable Power Source (UPS) is required to adequately protect storage data. Contact Seneca Data for assistance in correctly sizing a UPS for this platform.
C. Storage Management
1. Network Attached Storage (NAS) - The USP system shall support IPv4, IPv6, SMB, SMB2, SMB3, CIFS, NFS v2 & v3, FTP, and Telnet protocols.
2. iSCSI - The USP system shall support iSCSI. 3. Security - The USP shall support:
a. IPSEC IP security
b. CHAP protocol plus masking/mapping for iSCSI c. At Rest drive encryption
4. The USP system shall support granular file recovery from snapshots.
5. The USP system shall support local and/or remote replication at the iSCSI block level and share level.
D. Operating System
1. The USP system shall support the Windows Server 2000 and 2008, Windows 7, VMware, and Linux with iSCSI initiator operating systems.

3. User Interface

a. Expansion selves shall accommodate both 3.5” and 2.5” drives
b. Expansion shelves shall accommodate SATA, SAS, and SSD drives in any combination. 2. A 2RU expansion shelf shall be available with up to 12 6 TB drives (72 TB total).
b. The 2RU expansion shelf shall have a 500 W power supply plus one hot swappable redundant power supply.
3. A 3RU expansion shelf shall be available with up to 16 6 TB drives (96 TB total). a. The system shall provide for up to 4 4RU expansion shelves.
b. The 3RU shelf shall have 3 hot swappable cooling fans.
c. The 3RU shelf shall have a 500 W power supply plus one hot swappable redundant power supply.
4. A 4RU expansion shelf shall be available with up to 24 6 TB drives (144 TB total). a. The system shall provide for up to 4 4RU expansion shelves.
b. The 4RU shelf shall have 4 hot swappable cooling fans.
c. The 4RU shelf shall have a 600 W power supply plus one hot swappable redundant power supply.
5. Connectivity between the USP and expansion platforms shall be via Mini SAS connector (SFF-8088)

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 INSTALLERS
A. Contractor personnel shall comply with all applicable state and local licensing requirements. 3.02 INSTALLATION
A. Before permanent installation of the system, the system shall be factory tested in conditions simulating the final installed environment
B. Power cords shall be installed in physical pathways separate from data carrying cables. C. Power cables shall be connected to separate circuit breakers.
3.03 CONFIGURATION
A. Any required license keys shall be entered and operating system registered with Microsoft following completion of the system configuration.
3.04 STORAGE
A. The USP system shall be stored in an environment where temperature is in the range of 0 to +50o C (32 to 122o F) and humidity is 5 - 90%.
