Introduction

This document assists you with getting your version of Hyperion Enterprise Retrieve working with Microsoft Office 2010. It is one example of the support we provide to our Hyperion Enterprise customers.

2 Installation - Summary

There are 2 excel retrieve add-ins supplied with Hyperion Enterprise

• RHXLL32.XLL

• HERETREV.XLA

Over the years Alui have found that the RHXLL32.XLL add-in seems to be a bit faster and more stable than the HERETREV.XLA add-in. For these reasons Alui recommends the RHXLL32.XLL add-in and the installation steps below relate to the RHXLL32.XLL add-in.

To make retrieve work with excel 2010 you need to fix the digital signature in Excel and make it a trusted location. The following steps are a summary of the steps you need to go through to do this:

1. Install Office Excel 2010.

2. Set excel macro security to medium. 3. Install Hyperion.

4. Create HPAPP.DAT text file in folder C:\Hyperion.

5. Setup system variable for HPAPP.DAT pointing to file/folder in 4.

6. Open Excel 2010 and set Hyperion folder as trusted location - File Button > Excel Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations > Add New Location > Browse to C:\Program Files\Hyperion Solutions\ also Click Subfolders.

7. Set Hyperion retrieve as an add-in. File Button > Excel Options > Add-Ins > Manage Excel Add-ins Go Browse to C:\Program Files\Hyperion Solutions\Hyperion Enterprise\Rhxll32.xll.

8. Enter application user id and password and test if working OK.

3 Installation – Detailed with Screenshots

1. Install Office Excel 2010

2. Set excel macro security to medium (if not then default security is too high and nothing happens)

File Button > Excel Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings > Disable all macros with notification. Then OK.

3. Install Hyperion.

4. Create HPAPP.DAT text file in folder (lets say folder C:\Hyperion). Alui tend to recommend to not bury the HPAPP.DAT file too deep in the folder structure as occasionally this causes issues.

5. Setup system variable for HPAPP.DAT pointing to file/folder in 4. 6. Open Excel 2010 and set Hyperion folder as trusted location
