Dear Conference Attendee:
Welcome to PRACTICE MANAGEMENT 2016 in beautiful San Diego!
On behalf of everyone at the American Society of Anesthesiologists®

We have developed a great program with thought leaders in
anesthesia and practice management. We are confident you will walk
away with ideas and strategies to strengthen your practice and improve operations.
In addition to fantastic pre-conferences on leadership development, LEAN management, value

2016 offers:
• The keynote address “New Payment Models: Big Challenges, Big Opportunities” by
Ed Park, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Athenahealth
• The business school lecture, “Value-Based Contracting: The New Anesthesia Market”
given by Joe Damore, Vice President, Population Health Management, Premier, Inc.
• A Town Hall with the ASA Executive Committee
• The ever-popular Saturday Roundtable Discussions
• The Resident Track featuring presentations and topics specifically designed for
anesthesiology residents
• Practice Management for Chronic Pain: a special one-day conference jointly sponsored by
ASA and ASRA
I would like to thank the ASA Committee on Practice Management and ASA staff whose work
throughout the year make this conference a success. A special thank you also to our corporate
