On the influence of the algebraic degree of $F^{−1}$ on the algebraic degree of $G \circ F$

On the influence of the algebraic degree of $F^{−1}$ on the algebraic degree of $G \circ F$

deg R 16 8 ≤ 1024 − 1024 − deg(R 8 8 ) γ (S 8 ) ≤ 1023. 6 Conclusions Our work points out that, in many situations, the algebraic degree of an iterated function does not grow as fast as expected with the number of rounds. In particular, the degree of the inverse of the iterated permutation or, in the case of a non-injective function, the minimal degree of the inverse of a permutation expanding the function, has some influence on the degree of the iterated function. This observation can be used for exhibiting non-ideal behaviors in some cryptographic primitives, like block ciphers or hash functions. However, turning such distinguishers into real attacks, like a key-recovery attack on a cipher or a (second)-preimage attack on a hash function, is a difficult problem. The most promising approach consists in combining some properties of the algebraic normal form of an inner function (e.g., its low degree) and the solving of some algebraic system, as proposed in [28,18]. Another open problem is to determine the impact of our result on some stream ciphers which appear to be vulnerable to several attacks exploiting the existence of some function with a low degree [16,17].

VET in Europe. Country Report 2010 NORWAY. e) f) e) f)

Higher education institutions are organised directly under the Ministry and have a high degree of administrative and budgetary autonomy. In addition, academic freedom is an important and inherent characteristic of higher education. The Act of universities and university colleges in fact specifies that HEIs cannot be instructed on the content of their teaching or research, or on appointments of staff. It should be noted that there are no specific provisions regarding CVET in higher education, as the system is comprehensive and unified and without formal distinctions between VET and ‘non-VET’ programmes. The only exception to this rule is that for a limited number of study programmes of three (or four) years’ duration qualifying for work as teachers, engineers, or in the health sector, requirements have been lain down in national curriculum regulations. The National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (Nasjonalt organ for kvalitet i utdanningen — NOKUT) is responsible for the recognition of post-secondary vocational education and training as well as for quality assurance and accreditation in higher education

Association between Degree of Leverages and Firm Value

Association between Degree of Leverages and Firm Value

Thus, investors consider DOL an important accounting number in valuing the firms at marketplace. Our empirical results also indicate that firm value is independent of its capital structure (portion of total debt in total assets) as DFL does not impact firm value. No significant difference in PE ratio, proxy of firm value, of 231 sample firms distributed over nine industries is found though they are significantly different in terms of size (annual sales), profitability (ROA) and degree of leverages (see Table 1). This study is an addition to the literature of Capital market-based accounting research (CMBAR) which studies the association between stock price-based dependent variable and accounting variables in Indian context. The association between degree of leverages and stock risk and returns could be explored in the context of emerging or developing markets. Besides, the same study could be revisited in the context of under-developed markets to reexamine the reliability in the findings of this study.

explaining how political scientists divide up their field of study, it is important to make clear what comparative inquiry has to offer . We live in an interdependent world: what happens in Mexico, for example, impacts the United States . This point provides a good opportunity to introduce the theme of globalization and the general political and economic permeability of national borders . It is here that teachers will want to contrast the concepts of state, nation, regime, and government—a lesson inevitably leading to discussions about legitimacy, authority, and bases of political power, as well as the differences between these concepts . Thus, students might learn that the “state” is generally used to refer to the political power exercised over a defined geographic territory through a set of public institutions, in contrast to the “nation,” which is often understood as a human community with a shared culture and history . This course treats governments as collections of

E- and F-region coupling between an intense sporadic E layer and a mesoscale traveling ionospheric disturbance

E- and F-region coupling between an intense sporadic E layer and a mesoscale traveling ionospheric disturbance

This general trend of vertically upward net plasma flow is in agreement with the average uplift of the ionosphere of about 40 km during the interval 22:50 to 23:40 LT. Every theory involving coupling between the E and F re- gions involves the conductivity in the two regions. In Fig. 5 we plot three field line-integrated Pedersen conductivities for the E, F and E-region valley regions for 7 h just after sun- set the F-layer conductivity was almost two orders of magni- tude higher than the other two conductivities. After 20:00 LT the ratio began to decrease as the F layer rose in height and decreased in total content. By 23:00 LT, the F-region con- ductivity was only a factor of five higher. During this pe- riod there was no indication that either the E or F region had significant mesoscale structuring, although at smaller scales there does seem to be some structuring. Concerning the pe- riod near midnight when the E-region plasma density is high- est and the large variations in the plasma and neutral param- eters were observed, we notice that the F-layer and E-layer Pedersen conductivities begin to approach each other and, at 24:00 LT and for a short time thereafter, they are compara- ble. At the equator the layered vertical Hall conductivity, in the presence of a zonal electric field, causes a vertical po- larization electric field that is an order of magnitude higher than the zonal field and which leads to the strong equatorial electrojet and to Type I radar echoes. We use this same effect below to investigate generation of high polarization electric fields and their role in generating high CSR Doppler shifts and Type I echoes.

Association between Carbohydrate, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and HBA1C Level

Association between Carbohydrate, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and HBA1C Level

2) Masters Program in Public Health, Universitas Sebelas Maret ABSTRACT Background: Diabetes is now a disease that is a major concern both globally and regionally and is the leading cause of death in most countries. HbA1c levels are used to measure long- term glucose levels in patients with type 1 and 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Restrictions on carbohydrate diets have the greatest effect on decreasing blood glucose levels. Nutritional interventions with the provision of vitamin C and vitamin E can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress as a strategy to prevent the occurrence of DM. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of carbohydrate intake, vitamin C and vitamin E with HbA1c levels . Subjects and Method: This was a cross sectional study conducted at Prodia Surakarta Clinic, Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. A sample of 150 study subjects was selected by fixed disease sampling. The dependent variable was HbA1c level. The independent variables were carbohydrate and vitame E. The data were collected by questionnaire and 24-hour food recall.

If you are processing images captured by others there is nothing much to do about the illumination (although a few methods will be presented in later chapters) which was probably the sun and/or some artificial lighting. When you, however, are in charge of the capturing process yourselves, it is of great importance to carefully think about how the scene should be lit. In fact, for the field of Machine Vision it is a rule-of-thumb that illumination is 2/3 of the entire system design and software only 1/3. To stress this point have a look at Fig. 2.3 . The figure shows four images of the same person facing the camera. The only difference between the four images is the direction of the light source (a lamp) when the images were captured!

The Association Between Core Science Course Timing and Completion of an Associate Degree Nursing Program

The Association Between Core Science Course Timing and Completion of an Associate Degree Nursing Program

Section 3: The Project Introduction Meeting the growing demand for registered nurses is an ongoing challenge for nursing programs. The projected shortage of registered nurses is affecting 80% of the states in the United States including the southeastern state used in this doctoral study (HRSA, 2010). Reducing attrition rates from nursing programs will increase the number of graduates and add registered nurses to the workforce. This will have a direct impact on societal needs for registered nurses. The purpose of this study was to determine the associations among length of time between core science course completion and nursing program admission, on-time completion, and NCLEX-RN success for students at a southeastern community college. Although the null hypothesis was rejected for on-time completion, the phi coefficient noted a weak association. The null hypothesis was not rejected for NCLEX-RN success. In addition, the students taking Anatomy and

educational training programs as well as teacher mentoring programs (Hawkey, 2006). In the face of current educational policy reformation efforts taking place in the United States, further research in this area may be required. Researchers have also examined the role of EI in graduate level programs. Jaeger (2003) described the disconnect between current evidence which supports the value of EI in organizational development and the fact that few graduate training programs provide the training within their curriculum to support the development of EI in the student. A recent study examined the role of EI development within an MBA program through Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western University. Comparisons were made between different MBA cohorts to determine if EI and cognitive abilities could be more effectively developed. It was determined by the authors that such developments are quite possible in MBA programs, but not as the curriculum is currently designed.
