To add a new contact:
• Press the Settings ( ) button.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 5.Directory using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 1.Phone Book using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the [Add] softkey after moving to the next group of softkeys using the right navigation button, .
• Enter a Name for the new contact and press the [OK] softkey.
• Enter a Number or SIP user id for the contact and press the [OK] softkey.

• Select the Ring type to use when receiving a call from this contact.
• Enter a Speed Number (00 - 99) for the new contact and press the [OK] softkey. • The IP Phone adds the new contact to
the Phone Book and returns to the Phone Book list.
NOTE: To enter alphanumeric characters select the
[Mode] softkey. Refer to Appendix E for the character mapping of dial pad digits. If no Ring type is defined for a Phone Book entry, the Default Ring Type is used. Editing a record
To edit a Phone Book record:
• Press the Settings ( ) button.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 5.Directory using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey. • Press the digit, or move the cursor to
1.Phone Book using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey. • Select a contact to edit using the
[Next]-[Previous] softkeys.
• Press the [Edit] softkey after moving to the next group of softkeys using the right navigation button, .
• Enter the new Name for the contact and press the [OK] softkey.

• Enter the new Number for the contact and press the [OK] softkey.
• Select the Ring type to use when receiving a call from this contact.
• Enter the new Speed Number for the contact and press the [OK] softkey. • The IP Phone modifies the contact in the
Phone Book and returns to the Phone Book list.
NOTE: To enter alphanumeric characters select the
[Mode] softkey. Refer to Appendix E for the character mapping of dial pad digits. If no Ring type is defined for a Phone Book entry, the Default Ring Type is used. Deleting a Phone Book Record
To delete a Phone Book record:
• Press the Settings ( ) button.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 5.Directory using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 1.Phone Book using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey. • Select a contact to delete using the
[Next]-[Previous] softkeys.
• Select the [Delete] softkey and confirm by selecting the [Yes] softkey. Caution this action deletes the record from the Phone Book.
• The IP Phone deletes the contact from the Phone Book and returns to the Phone Book list.

Deleting All Records
To delete all Phone Book records:
• Press the Settings ( ) button.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 5.Directory using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 1.Phone Book using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey. • Press the [Del.All] softkey after moving to
the next group of softkey using the right navigation button, .
• Press the [Yes] softkey to confirm deletion of all contacts.
• The IP Phone deletes all contacts from the Phone Book and returns to the Phone Book list.
Searching the Phone Book
To search for the Phone Book using either Name or Number:
• Press the Settings ( ) button.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 5.Directory using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 1.Phone Book using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey. • Press the [Find] softkey after moving to
the next group of softkeys using the right navigation button, .
• Input a search keyword, and press the [OK] softkey.
• The search result displays showing the Speed number name and number. NOTE: To enter alphanumeric characters select the

Dialing from the Phone Book
To dial a number from the Phone Book:
• Press the Settings ( ) button.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 5.Directory using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 1.Phone Book using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Select a contact to dial using the [Next]-[Previous] softkeys. • Press the [Dial] softkey to place the call.
To dial a contact using the Down Navigation or Phone Book flexible button, see “Flexible Button Setting” on
page 3-36:
• Press the Down navigation of Phone Book flexible button while the IP Phone is idle.
• Select a contact to dial using the [Next]-[Previous] softkeys, • Press the [Dial] softkey to place the call.
Default
The IP Phone configuration can be returned to the original factory defaults, see Appendix A.
To return to the default configuration:
• Press the Settings ( ) button. If the LCD Menu is locked, use the unlock procedure on page 3-5.
• Press the button, or move the cursor to 6.Default using the [Next]-[Previous] softkeys, and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the [Yes] softkey to set the IP Phone to the default configuration, or press the [No] softkey to cancel.
• Move to another parameter with the
navigation buttons and continue the session or press the Settings ( ) button to exit the configuration session.
NOTE: Returning the configuration to default requires a reboot of the IP Phone; when you leave the
menu, you will receive a reboot notice. The IP Phone must reboot to utilize the new values entered.

Reboot
After changing certain parameters, the IP Phone will require a reboot to utilize the settings. These settings include the following:
- Network Configuration settings - Call Server Address settings - Software Update settings - Default settings
To reboot the IP Phone:
• Press the Settings ( ) button. If the LCD Menu is locked, use the unlock procedure on page 3-5.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 9.Reboot using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys, and press the [OK] softkey. • Press the [Yes] softkey to reboot the IP
Phone, or press the [No] softkey to cancel this menu.
• If you press [No] in the above step, move to another parameter with the navigation buttons and continue the session or press
the Settings ( ) button to exit the configuration session without activating the changes. Any parameter changes will update during the next reboot.
