4.3.2.2 Seal

1. Remove the Seal C7 with your fingers.

2. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

1. Before starting this section, refer to "4.3.1.2 Precautions when Handling HDD".

2. Remove the 2 HDD Slider screws C26 , then the HDD Slider C42 using the Ground Strap.

3. Remove the 4 HDD screws C30 , then the HDD C16 . 4. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:

- For proper alignment attach the HDD screws in the order of 1 to 4 .

Tightening torque: 0.25 to 0.35 N·m

- When assembling the HDD Slider, make sure the HDD 4.3.2.3 HDD

- If the NAVI PCB has been replaced, remove the protective cap from the board-to-board connector.

- If the DISPLAY&SW ASSY has been replaced, remove the protective cap from the board-to-board connector on the back of the DISPLAY&SW ASSY.

- When assembling, verify proper alignment of board-to-board connector.

- Make sure the 2 upper tabs on the back of the DISPLAY&SW ASSY are outside the Upper Case.

- Make sure the left and right bottom tabs on the back of the DISPLAY&SW ASSY are outside the Under Cover.

- Make sure the center bottom tab on the back of the DISPLAY&SW ASSY into the Under Cover.

- When the chassis positioning points have been fitted to the DISPLAY&SW ASSY, attach the DISPLAY&SW ASSY screws.

- Attach the spacer between the Upper Case screws on the left and right, making sure it blocks the gaps between the Upper Case and DISPLAY&SW ASSY, and the holes in the Upper Case.

- Take care that the spacer does not overlap the Upper Case screws.

- After attaching the spacer, press the entire surface with sufficient force so the spacer sticks sufficiently.

4.3.2.6 Rear Cover

1. Remove the HDD Slider, referring to "4.3.2.3 Removing/

Assembling HDD".

2. Remove the 11 Rear Cover screws C26 and remove the Rear Cover C46 .

3. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

CAUTION:

- When removing or assembling the Rear Cover, avoid dropping screws into the ACM.

NOTE:

- When assembling the Rear Cover, fit the Alignment pins of the Upper Case into the Alignment holes in the Rear Cover, and then attach the Rear Cover screws.

Tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m Item

4.3.2.7 Separating Chassis (into Upper Case and Under Case)

1. Remove the Brackets, referring to "4.3.2.1 Removing/

Assembling Brackets".

2. Remove the Seal, referring to "4.3.2.2 Removing/Assem-bling Seal".

3. Remove the HDD Slider, referring to "4.3.2.3 Removing/

Assembling HDD".

4. Remove the DISPLAY&SW ASSY, referring to "4.3.2.4 Removing/Assembling DISPLAY&SW ASSY".

5. Remove the Rear Cover, referring to "4.3.2.6 Removing/

Assembling Rear Cover".

6. Before starting this section, refer to "4.3.1.5 FFC

Connec-7. Remove the 4 Upper Case screws C26 .

8. Disengage the Snap Fits on the left and right of Upper Case, and then lift the Upper Case of chassis.

CAUTION:

- Be careful not to damage the FFCs.

9. Disconnect the 2 FFCs from the FFC connectors (FH12-xx-0.5SV series) on the Navi PCB, and then separate the chassis into the Upper Case and Under Case.

10. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:

- Connect the FFCs so that the metallic contact surface is on the left, the blue side on the right.

3. Rotate the Navi PCB C13 as shown in the figure.

CAUTION:

- Take care not to damage any parts on the PCB.

4. Pull out the 68-pin FFC from the FFC Connector (FH28 Series) on the Navi PCB.

5. Pull out the 50-pin FFC from the FFC Connector (FH12x-xx-0.5SH Series) on the Navi PCB.

6. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:

- Connect the 68-pin FFC and 50-pin FFC properly as in the figure.

- When attaching the Navi PCB to the Under Case, fit the Alignment points (burring) of the Under Case into the screw holes in the Navi PCB, and then attach the Navi PCB screws.

Tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m - Continued on the next page.

- After replacing the NAVI PCB, attach the EMC Gaskets C25 .

CAUTION:

- Attach the EMC Gaskets using the ends of the bracket shown in the figure as attachment references, making sure that they do not protrude from the bracket.

- Do not use generally available double-sided adhesive tape for attachment.

4.3.2.9 Audio PCB

1. Separate the chassis into the upper case and under case, referring to "4.3.2.7 Separating Chassis".

2. Remove the 5 Under Cover screws C28 .

3. Release the 4 snap fits between the Under Cover and Under Case, and then remove the Under Cover C45 . 4. Disconnect the 68-pin FFC C20 from the FFC Connector

(FH28 series) on the Audio PCB.

5. Pull out the FAN cable form the FAN connector, and then remove the Audio PCB C11 .

NOTE:

- After plugging in the FAN cable, lay out the surplus cable referring to the next page.

- Connect the 68-pin FFC properly as in the figure.

- When attaching the Under Cover to the Under Case, engage the snap fits securely in place (fit the 4 Align-ment pins of Under Cover into the 4 AlignAlign-ment holes on Under Case).

- When attaching the Under Cover to the Under Case, fit the Alignment points (burring) of the Under Case into the screw holes in the Audio PCB, and then attach the Under Cover screws.

Tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m - Continued on the next page.

4. Remove the 2 Fan Assy screws C26 and the Fan Assy C19 .

5. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:

- Fan Assy screw tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m

CAUTION:

- Do not touch the fan rotating portion or drop the Fan Assy: Doing so could damage the precision bearing, which could result in noise.

- When the Fan Assy is replaced, the Rubber may rise on the new Fan Assy: If it does rise, push it in, and then attach the Fan Assy.

1. Separate the chassis into the upper case and under case, referring to "4.3.2.7 Separating Chassis".

2. Remove the Audio PCB, referring to "4.3.2.9 Removing/

Assembling Audio PCB".

3. Disconnect the 50-pin FFC C22 from the FFC Connector (FH12x-xx-0.5SV series) on HDD Connector PCB.

4. Remove the 4 HDD Frame screws C26 and the Under Case C49 .

5. Remove the 4 HDD Holder screws C26 and the HDD Frame C40 and HDD Holder C41 .

6. Remove the 2 HDD Connector PCB screws C28 and the HDD Connector PCB C12 .

7. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:

- HDD Connector PCB screw tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m

- When attaching the HDD Holder to the HDD Frame, fit the Alignment pins of the HDD Frame into the Align-ment holes in the HDD Holder, and then attach the HDD Holder screws (at all 4 points).

Tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m

- When attaching the HDD Frame to the Under Case, fit the Alignment points (burring) of the Under Case into the screw holes in the HDD Frame, and then attach the HDD Frame screws (at all 4 points).

Tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m

- Connect the 50-pin FFC properly as in the figure.

3. Remove the 4 Upper Case screws C26 , and then remove the DVD Drive Assy C18 from the Upper Case C44 . 4. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:

- When attaching the DVD Drive Assy to the Upper Case, fit the Alignment points (burrings) of the DVD Bracket into the screw holes in the Upper Case, and then attach CAUTION:

- When replacing the DVD Drive, replace the entire DVD Drive Assy (with FFC).

- Hold only the DVD Bracket when handling the DVD Drive Assy. Do not touch the DVD Drive itself.

4.3.2.13 FFC of DVD Drive Assy

When replacing the DVD Drive, replace the entire DVD Drive Assy (with FFC).

1. Remove Sheet C36 and Sheet C35 with your fingers.

2. Remove the 4 DVD Drive screws C27 and the DVD Bracket.

CAUTION:

- When removing or assembling the DVD Drive, avoid dropping screws into the Drive.

3. Unplug the 45-pin FFC C23 and 40-pin FFC C24 from the connectors of the DVD Drive.

4. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

- When aligning the edge a of press bent portion and the edge a of square hole in Sheet DVD C35 , attach the sheet over the FFC so that the cable opening in the DVD BRKT is blocked: Take care that the sheet does not overlap the press bent portion. After attaching the sheet, press the entire surface with sufficient force so the sheet sticks sufficiently.

Sheet C36

- When aligning the edge b of press bent portion and the edge b of Sheet DVD2 C36 , the edge c of DVD BRKT and the edge c of Sheet DVD2 C36 : attach the sheets so that the cable opening in the DVD BRKT is blocked, but taking care that the sheet does not overlap the press bent portion. After attaching the sheet, press the entire surface with sufficient force so the sheet sticks sufficiently.

NOTE:

- Connect the 45-pin FFC and 40-pin FFC properly as in the figure on the preceding page.

- When attaching the DVD Bracket to the DVD Drive, pass the 45-pin FFC and 40-pin FFC through the openings in the DVD Bracket, fit the Alignment points of DVD Bracket (2 burring points at rear) into the screw holes in the DVD Drive, and then attach the DVD Drive screws first at rear in the order of 1 to 2 . The order of attaching the DVD Drive screws in front is not specified.

Tightening torque: 0.335 to 0.385 N·m

Lead free solder is used in PWB stamped LF mark.

Please keep the following conditions when you repair.

1. Use lead free solder.

* Koki's lead free solder S3X-55M 0.6mm (CLARION Parts No.642-0231-01)

* Koki's lead free solder S3X-55M 1.0mm (CLARION Parts No.642-0231-02) 2. Use a nitrogen solder system.

3. Do not use "General solder" and "Lead free solder"

together.
