9. Prerequisites for enrolling on the course 10. Objectives (competencies):

Future teachers (librarians) will be introduced with the library processes and basic ways of processing monographic publications, as well as with other types of cataloging (processing) in the world.

11. Content:

1. Concept of library processes - physical processing of library material, sealing, signing, inventoring.

2. Concept of cataloging and systematization of library material

3. Standarts ISBD, ISBD(M) –International Standar Bibliographic Descriptions for Monographic Publications

4. Concept and definition of bibliographic-catalog description (catalogization) 5. Outline scheme of sections in the description of monographs

6. Systematization of library material according to UDK 7. Indexing library material

8. Standardization of the library processes 9. Automatization of the library processes 10. Library Information System – LIS 11. Virtual Library of Macedonia – VLMK 12. MARC - Machine Readable Cataloguing

Development of research competencies of the students Ability of the students to identify a research problem Ability of the students to make a research project Ability of the students to define the hypothesis

Ability of the students to simply process the data(quantitative and qualitative) Ability of the students to analyze and interpret the results of the research Ability of the students to disseminate the results of the pedagogical research 11. Content:

1. Introduction into the research: basic term, process of research, research paradigms and designs, research project

2. Action research: basic characteristics, strategy of the action research, process of action research, design of the intervention and role of the amendatory measures

3. Methods, procedures, and instruments: operative methods and instruments (link), metric characteristics of the measuring instruments, characteristics of: observing, surveying, interviewing, and testing

4. Experimental design: characteristics of the experiment and models of experiment, characteristics of developing experiment with special review of the criterion conditions and results

5. Descriptive statistics: basic terms, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion and measures of correlation

Interpretation and presenting the results of the research: essence of the interpretation, graphical display of the results, notion of passage(paragraph) and its composing
