o Correction to footnotes - delete the computer skills note and footnotes numbers 1, 4, and 5 relating to advisement of students. The footnote 2 is also deleted because submission of online portfolios is no longer required.

The addition of footnote 2 now reads "The chemistry elective 3000/4000 course must have one prerequisite from the upper division major

requirements.

• BS in Mathematics makes the following change to major:

o LOWER DIVISION MAJOR REQUIREMENTS-CS 2301, a required course changed from a 3-hour course to a 4-hour course. An accounting error had only one overflow hour in Area F from Area D and it should be 2 hours. This change makes the lower division elective hours go from 6 to 4 credit hours.

• New Undergraduate Add-on Teaching Endorsement in Computer Science Education

o This Add-on Endorsement program is intended to provide the existing or prospective secondary school teacher with the preparation required to obtain a Georgia Teacher Certification in Computer Science. The program consists of the following courses: IS 2101 Computers and Your World, CS 2301 Programming Principles I, CS 2302 Programming Principles II, CSED 4416 Teaching of Computer Science, CSED 4417 Computer Science Teaching Practicum.

University College

o BS in Interdisciplinary Studies proposes two minor changes to published descriptions of the IDS Program's requirements:

o Transforming a course IDS majors are now "strongly urged" to take, IDS 3100 ("Interdisciplinary Research Methods"), into a requirement for those who have not included a research methods course in an appropriate

discipline in their IDS curriculum. This requirement can be accommodated within the existing curriculum; and

o Adding language to descriptions of the degree's upper-division courses that clarifies the inclusion of 15 hours coursework designed to enhance an IDS major's understanding of theory/culture, writing/communication, and application/integration.

o University Studies clarifies Honors Experience III: by adding "Students who have not completed or will not complete a research methods course in their major must take IDS 3100, "Interdisciplinary Research Methods," to fulfill this requirement.

New Certificate Programs of Study

• Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Trials. This program is design for biology, biotechnology, chemistry and biochemistry majors to prepare them for attractive, readily available jobs and career opportunities in regulatory affairs or clinical trials within Georgia's growing pharmaceutical, biomedical, and biotechnology industries as well as position graduates for future managerial responsibilities.

Graduates will have an in depth understanding of the regulatory approval process and clinical trail needs for drugs, biologics, medical devices and diagnostics.

Program includes courses in BTEC 3400 Drugs, Biologics, Devices and Diagnostics, STAT 3125 Biostatistics, BTEC 3410 Experimental Design and Analysis, BTEC 3420 Project Management: Regulatory Affairs and Clinical

Trials, BTEC 4320 Internship in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Biomedical Industry.
