Various pressure elevation (Uprate) design projects including 9 miles of main from 60# to 135# in Terre Haute, IN; 25 miles of plastic main from 30# to 60# in Lafayette, IN and 5 miles of plastic main from 30# to 60# in Rockville, IN. These all included investigating current material on the system, design replacement areas, design regulator replacements/upgrades and write step by step uprate plan.

steel main. Design components included designing bridge crossings, RR crossings, coordinating running line with other utilities, regulator station design, and permitting.

Designed over $5MM of capital improvements to the overall gathering line system in Pontiac. Replaced several thousand feet of existing steel pipe, ranging from 6” – 12”

in size. Design incorporated pigging facilities (both conventional and Argus style) pipeline drips and a slug catcher installation upstream of the current dehy towers.

Project Description: Design, Material Lists & Permitting for Cast Iron Main Replacement

applications for various 2-5 mile modules, for replacement of approximately 50 miles of cast iron main annually. Project is expected to run thru 2016.

Provided detailed design, material specifications, and material lists for various compressor station equipment, both new installations and revisions, within the company's gas storage fields. The scope of the project included gathering lines, station piping and miscellaneous compressor equipment upgrades. An average total of $7.5MM worth of capital projects have been designed annually from 2008 - 2010.

Project Description: Design Relocation Existing Pipeline Project Title: Cross County Connector

Location: Maryland USA

Designed the relocation of 6,000 feet of 8” plastic main due to construction of a cross-county interconnect highway system. Complications included the grade elevation lowering between 7’ and 25’ and elevation build-up between 7’ and 15’. Coordinated with county officials and consulting engineers to decide on new main alignment, coordinated with Washington Gas construction supervisor and county developer to avoid exposing main while existing roadway was disturbed.

Headed gas main relocation of 15+ projects in extremely congested Tysons Corner.

Projects included relocation of 2” - 12” gas mains, as well as supporting a 30” main across a large span of tunnel excavation. Coordinated permitting, traffic control, SOE plans, and daily project adjustments.

Location: Arizona USA

Provided preparation of all details for the replacement of 7,100' of 8" transmission line with 16" pipe along with the design of two valve nest tie-in points. Also included was detailed profile views for the installation of the main in an area of significant proposed grading.

Project Description: Replacement of 8 & 10 in Diameter Transmission Pipeline Project Title: N/A

Location: Minnesota USA

Provided engineering design for the replacement of 12,000' of 8" and 10" transmission line with 12" main. Two valve nest tie-in points were included. The scope of the project included survey and land acquisition coordination.

Designed the installation of a regulator station, including the design of the inlet/outlet piping, 2" regulator runs with relief valves, as well as a station bypass and tie-in to a Bruest "HotCat" heater.

Designed the replacement of 400' of 22" mainline along a major highway. The design required a detailed bore profile to assist the pipeline contractor in avoiding existing utilities in area. The main is installed at a depth of approximately 35' below the roadway.

Project Description: Replacement of 8 in Diameter Transmission Pipeline &

Directional Bore River Crossing Through Rock Project Title:

Location: Illinois USA

Performed the engineering design for the relocate of an 8" distribution main across the Fox River. The design involved directional drilling through rock with an alternative design for open cutting if conditions allowed. Project also included coordination of construction permit approvals from the various agencies including the Army Corp of Engineers, IEPA, Village of Batavia, and Park District.

Location: Washington D.C. USA

Designed relocation of 5,200 feet of new 6” plastic main to avoid conflicts with new trolley car tracks and associated underground electric vaults and cables being installed in Washington D.C. Design complications included congested areas, coordinating with PEPCO, DC WASA and VERIZON for construction layout and working with consulting engineer for District of Columbia Department of Transportation to select appropriate new alignment for gas main.

Provided detailed design, sediment and erosion control plans, traffic control plans, application and acquisition of environmental and road opening permits, utility locating using conventional methods, vacuum excavation and ground penetrating radar, and participation in environmental/municipal meetings for the installation of a 7 mile, 24”

Transmission pipeline. Other project deliverables included initial preliminary route critique with client and drill path calculations for four directional drills under the Toms River and three smaller tributaries.

Miscellaneous portions throughout the Glasford Storage Field were addressed to minimize low points, remove siphon drips and install new log drips. Design modifications to make the existing gathering lines pig-gable, such as removing restrictions in the line like SR fittings and unbarred tees or plug valves. The design also included the installation of multiple launchers and receivers at critical points.

Work consisted of (3) specific locations at the Shanghai Facility.
