2 ALARM HANDLING

2.5 L EVEL 4 ALARM

2.5.8 Slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal

2.5.8.1Forward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 1 Alarm code: 0xD0B

Alarm content: Forward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 1 Alarm level: 4

Alarm cause: Chips faulty or clocks abnormal, phase difference from the BSC clock or poor E1 connection

Influence of the alarm: For occasional occurrence, it has little influence on the conversation.

Frequent occurrences (once several minutes) will cause abnormal communication or abnormal link set-up between the active rack TRU and the BSC.

Time limit of handling: If it occurs occasionally, and the CKU is in the free run mode, this alarm may not be handled; while for frequent occurrences, handle it as soon as possible.

Handling process:

1. Insert the board properly and reset it.

2. If the alarm still exists, it indicates that the D101 chip on the board may be faulty, replace the board.

3. If the alarm still exists, it indicates the system clock may be abnormal, reset the CKU.

4. If the alarm still exists, the physical link of the E1 A interface may be abnormal.

5. If the physical link of the E1 A interface is normal, while the alarm still exists, contact the regional office of ZTE Corporation.

Alarm type: Equipment alarm

2.5.8.2Forward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 2 Alarm code: 0xD0C

Alarm content: Forward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 2 Alarm level: 4

Alarm cause: Chips faulty or clocks abnormal, phase difference from the BSC clock or poor E1 connection

Influence of the alarm: For occasional occurrence, it has little influence on the conversation.

Frequent occurrences (once several minutes) will cause abnormal communication or abnormal link set-up between the extension rack TRU and the BSC.

Time limit of handling: If it occurs occasionally, and the CKU is in the free run mode, this alarm may not be handled; while for frequent occurrences, handle it as soon as possible.

Handling process:

1. Insert the board properly and reset it.

2. If the alarm still exists, it indicates that the D201 chip on the board may be faulty, replace the board.

3. If the alarm still exists, it indicates the system clock may be abnormal, reset the CKU.

4. If the alarm still exists, the physical link of the E1 B interface may be abnormal.

5. If the physical link of the E1 B interface is normal, while the alarm still exists, contact the regional office of ZTE Corporation.

Alarm type: Equipment alarm

2.5.8.3Forward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 3 Alarm code: 0xD0D

Alarm content: Forward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 3 Alarm level: 4

Alarm cause: Chips faulty or clocks abnormal, phase difference from the BSC clock or poor E1

connection

Influence of the alarm: For occasional occurrence, it has little influence on the conversation.

Frequent occurrences (once several minutes) will cause abnormal communication or abnormal link set-up between the cascaded rack TRU and the BSC.

Time limit of handling: If it occurs occasionally, and the CKU is in the free run mode, this alarm may not be handled; while for frequent occurrences, handle it as soon as possible.

Handling process:

1. Insert the board properly and reset it.

2. If the alarm still exists, it indicates that the D301 chip on the board may be faulty, replace the board.

3. If the alarm still exists, it indicates the system clock may be abnormal, reset the CKU.

4. If the alarm still exists, the physical link of the E1 C interface may be abnormal.

5. If the physical link of the E1 C interface is normal, while the alarm still exists, contact the regional office of ZTE Corporation.

Alarm type: Equipment alarm

2.5.8.4Backward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 1 Alarm code: 0xD0E

Alarm content: Backward slide code indication of the BIE E1 interface signal 1 Alarm level: 4

Alarm cause: Chips faulty or clocks abnormal, phase difference from the BSC clock or poor E1 connection

Influence of the alarm: For occasional occurrence, it has little influence on the communication.

Frequent occurrences (once several minutes) will cause abnormal communication or abnormal link set-up between the host rack TRU and the BSC.

5. If the physical link of the E1 A interface is normal, and the alarm still exists, contact the regional office of ZTE Corporation.

Alarm type: Equipment alarm
