CAMPUS MINISTRY

Students complete a 10-month SEE with the Christian Campus House (CCH) (www.mizzoucch.org) at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Students will gain experience in Bible teaching, leadership development, organization, and disciple-making in a university setting. Students may remain enrolled as full-time students during the SEE by taking online classes and independent studies.

Interested students must submit an application to the Academic Office in the spring semester prior to the SEE start date. Volunteer experience at CCH is required prior to approval. Approval by the Associate Dean is required.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Students complete studies in children’s ministry to serve the church by specializing in the care and teaching of children from birth to sixth grade. The curriculum includes the courses from the Certificate of Biblical Knowledge and five additional courses.

CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Students participate in a 10-month SEE with Lasting Harvest International (www.lastingharvestinternational.com) in Panama. Students in the training program receive class instruction and work experience in aquaculture, small animal projects, and agronomy. They will learn a Christian basis for community development in missions and how to work cross-culturally. Students may remain enrolled full-time during the SEE by taking online classes or independent studies.

The training program lasts from January to October. Interested students must submit an application to the Academic Office in the fall semester prior to the SEE start date. Approval by the Associate Dean and Program Director is required.

Students will be prepared to work in the following positions: mission organization or non-profit organization community development director or project manager.

The 18-credit certificate from MACC provides students with basic skills and knowledge in the areas of industrial maintenance, manufacturing and DC/AC electronics. Students complete studies in the areas of nursing or occupational therapy through Dual Enrollment at Moberly Area Community College (MACC) while earning a degree from Central that includes Bible and ministry training.

The two-year Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program provides a combination of subject matter and clinical experiences designed to prepare the student to provide high-quality, safe, effective, patient-centered care to individuals or groups of individuals with well-defined health problems.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply to take the National Council of Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses. The State of Missouri Nursing Practice Act, Sec 335.066 provides additional criteria for eligibility to apply for licensure to practice nursing. Successful completion of the program does not guarantee eligibility to take the licensing exam. Satisfactory performance on this examination will qualify the student for licensure as a registered nurse.

The program is fully accredited by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and is approved by the Coordinating Board of Higher Education and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Students receive the BRS

from CCCB and the ADN from MACC. Students enroll full-time at Central for four semesters, dual enroll for two semesters, and enroll full-time at MACC for four semesters. The program may be completed in 10 semesters.

Admissions Criteria

Students must have a minimum composite ACT score of 20 and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70. All application documents required by MACC need to be submitted by the appropriate deadline to be considered for the program. Having the minimum application criteria for the program does not guarantee admission.

A weighted admission process is utilized to select the best qualified candidates.

URSING

The 12-month certificate program in Practical Nursing (PN) provides a combination of subject matter and clinical experiences to prepare the student to work in a variety of structured health care environments. A graduate from the PN program will function as a client caregiver under the direction of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or a Licensed Physician.

Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to apply to take the National Council of Licensing Examination for Practical Nurses. The State of Missouri Nursing Practice Act, Section 335.066, provides additional criteria for eligibility to apply for licensure as a practical nurse. Successful completion of the program does not guarantee eligibility to take the licensing exam. Satisfactory performance on this examination will qualify the student for licensure as a practical nurse. The MACC Practical Nursing program is fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing and is approved by the Coordinating Board for Higher Education and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Division of Career Education.

Students receive the BRS degree from Central and the Certificate in Practical Nursing from MACC. Students enroll full-time at Central for four semesters, dual enroll for two semesters and enroll full-time at MACC for three semesters. The program may be completed in 9 semesters.

Admissions Criteria

Students must have a minimum score of 58% on the TEAS-V exam. All application documents required by MACC need to be submitted by the appropriate deadline to be considered for the program. Having the minimum application criteria for the program does not guarantee admission. A weighted admission process is utilized to select the best qualified candidates.

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program prepares students to assume responsibility in various laboratory settings, medical or non-medical, clinical diagnostic or research, hospital or reference laboratories. Core classes study human diseases and laboratory tests that identify them. Students learn to operate equipment in medical laboratories and perform a wide range of procedures.

Section 3 - Specialized Programs

Students who have successfully completed the MLT program will be eligible to take the American Society for Clinical Pathology certification examination.

MACC’s MLT program is an active accredited program with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Students receive the BRS degree from Central and an Associate of Applied Science from MACC. Students enroll full-time at Central for 3 semesters, dual enroll for 3 semesters and enroll full-time at MACC for four semesters. The program may be completed in 10 semesters.

Admissions Criteria

Students must have a minimum composite ACT score of 20, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 and earn a 2.50 in required prerequisite courses (College Algebra, Anatomy, General Chemistry I with lab, Microbiology, Physiology with lab). Students are required to submit an official application packet by the deadline of March 31, prior to the semester of admittance.

The Missouri Health Professions Consortium (MHPC) Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Program offered through MACC prepares students to work under the supervision of Registered Occupational Therapists. Assistants work with people of all ages who, because of physical, developmental, social or emotional deficits need specialized assistance to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.
