the Emotion

In document Matrix Reimprinting Using EFT (Page 82-86)

What is the emotion? Where do you feel it in your body?

Follow the basic EFT protocol until there is no feeling around the emotion in your body. An example might be that you feel sadness in you r heart. You would first check how sad you felt out of ten (the SUDS level). Then you would say the set-up phrase out loud three times while tapping on the karate chop point: 'Even though I have this sadness in my heart. I deeply love and accept myself.' Then you would tap around all the points from the top of the head downwards, repeating the reminder phrase: 'This heart sadness.' And you would conti nue until the intensity is zero.

Check the scene again. What did you see, feel, hear, smell, taste or think? Any of these senses may give you an emotional intensity and cha nge your body chemistry. Examples include:

Examples of set-up phrases for each issue include:

'Even though my toes curl when I see that blood, I deeply lOve and accept myself. '

'Even though I've got this fear in my legs. •• ' 'Even though that scream makes my heart mce. •• '

Changing a Whole Memory (Movie Technique)

Whatever life issue you are working on, you need to find the key events that relate to that issue. Your question should always be 'What's the earliest memory relati ng to this issue?' The above technique showed you how to work on a single image or scene and resolve all the aspects involved. But what if you h ave a longer memory with lots of different aspects, or peaks of emotional intensity? The most effective way of working with these in traditional EFT is the Movie Technique:

MATRIX R.E IMPRINTI NG USING E FT

How tong would the movie last? It needs to spread over a couple of minutes to a few hours in real time, within a single morning, afternoon, evening or night If it spans several days or weeks, break it i nto several separate movies.

For example, Sasha used this technique with a client who wanted to work on a memory of her dog being put down. Her client said that the memory was one single event, but when the work got underway it turned out that there were actually three separate movies: the first was the day that the vet said the dog had to be put down, the second was a few days later when she took the dog for his last walk, and the third was the actual memory of the dog being put down. In some cases, working with the most intense memory will take all the emotional resonance out of the others, but make sure you break the memories into separate movies and work through each one in order to get the best results.

3:1he .. .

What would the title of the movie be? A common mistake here is to give it the title of a movie that already exists, such as The Godfather. I nstead, the title needs to reflect the content of the movie, such as Abandoned on the Beach or The Worst Thing That Ever Happened.

Check your SUDS level (intensity out of ten) at the movie title.

Take the edge off the intensity. For example:

'Even though I have this Abandoned on the Beach movie, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. '

Practising the Techniques with Someone Else

You can either practise the tech niques on your own or pair up with a partner. Often it is more effective to pair up with someone. If you choose to do so, the partner leads you in the process while tapping on themselves at the same time. They can also tap on you if you get upset.

If someone Is leading )'OU, they will say your set-up phrase and you wiU repeat it after them, while you both tap on )'OUr own karate c;hJop lf }'9fl tn t1t1s way, it Is

They then say )'OU( reminder phrase and you repeat It after them, while you both tap on your own points.

It Is Important that the words used are those of the person who has the issue. So the person who Is leading the session listens carefully to what the recipient says about the problem and then feeds It back to them In a set-up statement, for example:
