v YoucanonlyconfigurenetworksettingsontheOperatorPanel,andyoucannot loginto thelibraryfromthewebinterfaceuntilyouhaveconfigured network settings.

v Youcanalways returntotheSetupWizardwheneveryouarelogged intothe OperatorPanel.

v Anyadministrativeusersyoucreatewillalsobe abletousetheSetupWizardas wellasSetupandOperationsmenucommandstoreconfigurethelibrary.

v Ifnecessary,youcancanceloutoftheSetupWizardontheOperatorPaneland beginusingthelibrarylocallywith thedefaultsettingsinplace. Ifyouaccept thedefaultnetworkconfigurationsettings,youwillnotbe abletoaccessthe

libraryremotelyfromtheWebUserInterface.Youcan,however,return tothe SetupWizardatanytimeand modifynetworkand othersettings.

Important: UsetheAppendixD,“LibraryConfiguration Form,”onpageD-1to recordalllibrarysettings.Atthistime, thereisno wayto

electronicallysaveandrestorelibrarysettings.

Step 1: Log in to the Operator Panel

Ifnecessary, login totheOperator Panel.IftheSetupWizard:Welcomescreen appears, skipthisstep.

On theOperatorPanelLoginscreen:

1. Touch theUsernametextfieldtoaccessthealphanumerickeyboards.

2. Usethealphabetickeyboardtoenteradmin,thentouchOK.

3. Touch thePasswordtextfieldtoaccessthealphanumerickeyboards.

4. Usethealphabetickeyboardtoentersecure,thentouch OK.

5. Touch OKagaintoaccesstheHomePagescreenwhichdisplaysthedefault configurationofthelibrary.

6. Deletethelibrary’sdefaultlogicallibrarysetting.

a. SelectSetupDeleteLogicalLibraries.and followtheon-screenprompts.

Now youarereadytoconfigureyour libraryusingtheSetupWizard.

Step 2: Access the Setup Wizard

Important: Ifatanypointyoutouch CancelwhileintheSetupWizard,theSetup Wizard:Cancelscreenappears.Thescreenisdynamically updatedto indicatewhatthecurrentconfigurationofthelibraryis,includingany settingsthathavebeen appliedthusfarin theWizard.Touching CancelontheCancelscreennavigates youbacktothelastaccessed screenintheSetupWizard.TouchingOKappliesthecurrentsettings andreturnsyoutotheHomePage screen.

1. IftheSetupWizard:Welcomescreendoesnotdisplayautomatically,select SetupSetupWizard todisplaytheWelcome screen.

2. Afterreadingtheinformationonthescreen,touch Begin.

Step 3: Ensure that all Hardware is Installed

1. ReadtheHardwareInstallationscreen.

2. Ensurethatalltapedrivesandthecustomer-supplied Ethernetcableare installed.

3. Ifthedrivesand Ethernetcableareinstalled,touchNext tocontinue.

Step 4: Set up the Library Network Configuration

Read“ModifyingNetwork Settings”onpage4-1before beginningthisstep.

Important: Youwillnotbeabletoaccessthelibraryremotelyuntil thenetwork settingsareapplied.Library firmwarecanonlybe updatedusingthe remoteWebUserInterface.

Touch Noifyoudo notknowyournetworksettingsandtocontinueconfiguring your library.

Toset upthenetworkconfiguration:

1. Determineyour networksettings(IPAddress,DefaultGateway,and Subnet Mask)and recordthisinformationontheAppendixD,“LibraryConfiguration Form,”onpageD-1.

2. TouchYestobeginconfiguringthelibrarynetwork.

3. Choosea nameforyour library.

4. TouchtheLibraryNametextboxtoaccessthealphanumerickeyboards.

5. Usingthealphanumerickeyboards,enterthenameintotheLibraryName field.

Note: Thelibrarynamecanbea maximumof12alphanumericcharacters.Any lettersusedinthelibrarynamemustbe lowercase.

6. SelectDynamic HostConfigurationProtocol(DHCP)tohavethelibrary networksettingautomaticallyconfigured.Toconfigureyournetworkmanually, enterthefollowingnetworksettings:

v IPAddress-theInternet protocol(IP)addressofthelibrary

v Default Gateway-theIPaddressofthedefaultgatewayforyour portionof theEthernetnetwork

Note: EachIPaddressconsistsoffoursetsofnumbers(″octets″) separated byperiods.Donotuse″0″inthelastoctetoftheaddress becauseit willreset theGateway totheoriginaladdressset atthefactory.

v SubnetMask -theIPaddressof thesubnetwork 7. Touch Applytosavethenetworksettings.

8. Afterasuccessfulsave,touch Close.

9. Touch Localtocompleteconfiguringyour libraryusingtheOperatorPanel.

Note: TheSetupWizardisnotavailable fromtheWebUser Interface.

Step 5: Enter License Keys

Read“Applyinga LicenseKey”onpage4-2beforebeginningthis step.

Ifyoupurchaseda ControlPathFailoverLicenseKey(FeatureCode1682which includesControlPathFailoverandData PathFailover)withyour libraryor a CapacityExpansionLicenseKey (FeatureCode1640)with your14Uorlarger library, enterthoselicensekeysnow.

Note: ADataPathFailoverlicensekey(FeatureCode1682)isenteredat thehost.

Refertothedevicedriverdocumentationshippedwithyour libraryand the installationinstructionsshippedwithyour licensekeys formore

information.

Touch Noifyouwould liketocontinueconfiguringyourlibrarywithoutentering a licensekey.

Toentera licensekey:

1. Locate thelicensekeylabels.

2. Touch Yes.

3. Touch theLicenseKey textfieldtoaccessthealphanumerickeyboards.

4. Use thealphanumerickeyboardstoenterthekey.

5. Touch Apply.

6. Touch Closetocontinue.

7. Verifythatyour libraryhasthecorrectnumberoflicensedslotsbyselecting theHomeicon( 1

inFigure5-1onpage5-2)toviewtheHomePage screen.

8. Placea licensekeylabelonthecover platelocatedontherearofthelibraryto therightof theLibrary ControlBlade.

9. PlaceanotherlicensekeylabelontheAppendixD,“LibraryConfiguration Form,”onpageD-1forsafekeeping.

10. Repeatthisprocedureforeachlicensekey.

Step 6: Assign Cleaning Cartridge Slots

Read“CleaningSlotsConfiguration”onpage4-2beforebeginningthisstep.

Onecleaningcartridgeslotisassignedasadefaultinthelibrary.Amaximumof four cleaningcartridgeslotsareallowed inthelibrary.Ifyoudonotwishto assign additional cleaningcartridgeslots,touchNotocontinueconfiguringyour library.

Toassignadditionalcleaningcartridgeslots:

Step 7: Assign I/O Station Slots

ThelibraryhassixI/OStationslotsassignedasadefault.IfyoupurchasedaE9U expansionmoduleanda CapacityExpansionlicensekey(FeatureCode 1640),you canassignadditionalI/OStationslots.Upto 12I/OStation slotscanbeassigned ineachE9U expansionmodule.IfyoudonotwishtoassignadditionalI/OStation slots,touch Notocontinueconfiguringyourlibrary.

ToassignadditionalI/OStationslots:

1. TouchYes.

2. Usingtheupand downarrows,choosethenumberofI/OStationslotsyou wouldliketo assigninyour library.

3. TouchNext tocontinue.

Step 8: Assign Logical Libraries

Read“WorkingwithLogical Libraries”onpage4-4beforebeginningthis step.

Thelibraryhasonelogicallibraryconfiguredasadefault.Themaximumnumber of logicallibrariesthatcanbe configuredisequal tothenumberofdrivesinstalled inthelibrary.

Ifyoudonotwishtocreateadditionallibraries,touchNotocontinueconfiguring your library.

Tocreateadditionallogicallibraries:

1. TouchYestochange thenumber oflogicallibrariesin yourlibrary.

2. Usingtheupand downarrows,choosethenumberoflogicallibrariesyou wishtosetupinyour library.

3. TouchNext tocontinue.

4. Modifythelibrarynamesthatappearbytouchingthetextbox,andusingthe alphanumerickeyboardstotypeina name.

5. TouchNext tocontinue.

6. Verifythatthenumberofcleaningslots,I/OStationslots,andlogicallibraries creatediscorrect.

7. TouchApply tosavethesettingsandexittheSetupWizard.

Step 9: Set the Date and Time

1. Enterthecurrentdateand timebytouchingeachsquareandenteringthe currentvalue.

Note: Thelibraryclockisona24-hourcycle.Forexample,4:00pm wouldbe enteredas16(HH)and00(MM).Clockmanagement mayrequireyour toresetthetime.

2. Touch Applytosavethedateandtimesettingsandtocontinue.

3. Touch Closetocontinue.

Step 10: Insert Cleaning Cartridge(s)

Read“UnderstandingCartridgeAssignmentintheLibrary”onpage4-1before beginningthis step.

1. PlaceacleaningcartridgeintheI/OStation.

2. Touch Systemtoassignthecleaningcartridgetotheentirelibrarysystemand nottoaspecific logicallibrary.

3. SelectOperationsInsertingCleaning Media.

4. Selectthedesigneddestinationslotforthecleaningcartridge.

5. Touch OK.

6. Repeatthisprocedureforeachcleaningcartridge.

Step 11: Populate your Library with Data Cartridges

Read“UnderstandingCartridgeAssignmentintheLibrary”onpage4-1before beginningthis step.

Two methodsareavailableforpopulating yourlibrarywithdatacartridges:

v Bulkloading

v Importingvia theI/OStation

Only bulkloadcartridgesintoyourlibraryifthefollowingcriteriaismet:

v ifyourlogicallibraryislicensedforfullcapacity v ifyouare loadingblankcartridges

v ifcleaningslotshavebeenassignedandholdcleaningcartridges

Note: Donotbulkload cartridgesintothebottomtworowsofthelibrary.Also,if yourlibraryis23Uorlarger,donotbulkloadcartridgesintothetopslotof column4 orcolumn5.Thesestorage slotsarenotaccessiblebytherobot duetomechanicallimitations.

Storageslotsare notassignedconsecutivelyina logicallibrary.Toensurethatyour cartridges getplacedinthecorrectlogicallibrary,importyour datacartridgesvia theI/OStationfollowingtheprocedurebelow.

1. Determinethenumberofavailable storageslotsineachlogicallibraryby referringtotheLibraryMapontheWebUserInterface(MonitorSystemLibraryMap).

2. Using therightand leftarrowsnearthetopofthescreen,scrollbetweenlogical librariesand makenoteofthenumberofstorageslotsassignedtoeachlogical library.

3. LoadtheI/OStationwithdatacartridges.

4. Choosethelogicallibrarytowhichthese cartridgesaretobeassigned.

5. SelectOperationsInsertMedia.

6. Repeatthisprocedureuntilalldatacartridgeshavebeenimportedintothe library.

Step 12: Register for My Support

My SupportregistrationprovidesemailnotificationfromIBM whennewfirmware levelshavebeenupdatedand areavailablefordownloadandinstallationaswell asotherinformationaboutyourlibrary.
