Weak Statistics Weak Statistics Weak Statistics
Weak Statistics are those that the Doxy struggles with. As such when she makes rolls involving said Statistic she rolls 2 dice and picks the
LOWEST result.
Example: Sugar is trying to find a suitable Punter. However her Cheating is her Weak Statistic so she roll two dice, picks the lowest result, adds it to her Cheating and subtracts the Bawd’s dice+ Difficulty.
Injuries Injuries Injuries Injuries
Failure in Tough Justice is rarely that bad and in Courtesans it’s even less of an immediate issue. Doxy on the other hand is gritty, grimy and dirty.
Every failure at a Challenge has horrible consequences!
These are in the form of Injuries. You may recognise the Statistic Decay mechanic from Tough Justice and the Advanced rules of Courtesans. In Doxy this is the norm for EVERY STATISTIC!
Yes every failure hurts: Hence why they are called Injuries.
When a Doxy fails a Statistic Challenge you must mark the box under the rightermost point of the Statistic on her Sheet. Marked points are Injured and the point they are attached to cannot be used until the Injury is healed.
This represents how failure wears her down. In the case of some Statistics it can mean physical injury in others it’s more of an ego blow.
Example: Sugar failed that Test with her Weak Cheating unsurprisingly so she takes an Injury to her Cheating. In future rolls she cannot use the Injured point so she counts as Cheating 0.
Cancelling
Vhen two Doxies are in a
Challenge vhere zey are both using zere Strong or Veak Statistics zey cancel each other out and both Doxies roll as if ze Statistics vere normal. Zere is no additional affect for Strong against Veak or Veak against Strong.

Saves Saves Saves Saves
When a Doxy takes an Injury when all of her Injury boxes are full she is in deep shit!
She now has to make a Save.
A Save is a dice roll against either the Bawd or the Doxy opposing her. Good Ats may be applied as appropriate but Statistics are never added to either roll. Success means the Doxy is unaffected and carries on. Failure has dramatic consequences as described below.
Example: Sugar fails a subsequent Cheating roll. As all of her boxes are already marked she must make a Save.
As both parties lack relevant Good Ats she rolls an unmodified dice against the Bawd’s unmodified dice to determine her fate.
Failing Saves is BAD NEWS. In the case of 5 of the Statistics it leads to Incapacity effects. These work as follows.
Bitching Incapacity: The Doxy is tired of being spiteful and desperate that everyone get along. She must spend every other action Helping.
Charming Incapacity: The Doxy looks like shit from tiredness and
lethargy. She may not make any action using this Incapacitated Statistic.
Cheating Incapacity: The Bawd Character notices the Doxy is unwary to the point of being unsafe on the streets and prohibits her from leaving the Brothel. If she requires the use of Cheating defensively she
automatically fails by a Margin equal to a single unmodified dice roll.
Daring Incapacity: The Doxy is a complete pushover. She automatically fails any roll requiring Daring by a Margin equal to a single unmodified dice roll.
Fighting Incapacity (Knock Out):
The Doxy is unconscious and can take no actions until she is Revived or a full Night has passed.
Example: Sugar failed her Save so now, seeing as she’s even more ditzy than usual Kitty prohibits her from leaving the Brothel.
Healing Healing Healing Healing
In the basic rules of Doxy there are 3 ways to Heal Injuries.
1) Natural Recovery (See Chapter Nine: A Week’s Work)
2) Helping Actions (See Chapter Four:
Basic Actions)
68
3) Use of a Sentimental Possession.
(See Chapter Six: Goods and Professional Services.)
Examples of these are given in the indicated Chapters. When an Injury is healed rub out the mark in the box (until next time!)
Reviving Reviving Reviving Reviving
If a Statistic is Incapacitated it must be Revived before it can be Healed.
Essentially the first point of Healing on an Incapacitated Statistic goes on Revival. If only 1 point of Healing is granted the Statistic remains
effectively 0 though it is no longer Incapacitated.
Death Death Death Death
Getting Bonking Injured fully then failing a Save is deadly. Literally! A Doxy dies if she fails her Save against a final Injury against her Bonking. It is thus referred to as a Save against Death.
How she dies depends on the circumstances. As this is an adult game Bawds are encouraged to be gruesome.
Example: On the run from a Thief Taker Casey gets shot. Failing her Save against Death she keels over and dies.
Risk Checks Checks Checks Checks
Certain actions come with a risk that can apply whether you succeed or fail.
The obvious example is Straight Sex and the attached risk of Pregnancy but there are other actions that carry risks for other reasons.
Make a note every time you make an action described as Risky (See Chapters Four and Five.) When indicated in Chapter Nine: A Week’s Work you roll a dice for each of these Risks. Rolls of 3 or more have no effect. Rolls of 1 or 2 inflict Misfortunes as described there.
Example: Hope ends her first week with x risks. She thus rolls x dice and suffers a Consequence for each 1 and 2.
I Can Choose My Misfortunes?
Yes my darlingk! Doxy is a game vere you have more control over your Character development positive and negative zan, for example, Courtesans. On ze downside it is also a very lethal game unless you are very careful!

Assets Assets Assets Assets
The acquisition and maintenance of the two Assets is very much the key to a successful Doxy’s Career.
Exactly how Assets are awarded (and lost) is covered in Chapter Four: Basic Actions and various uses for them can be found in Chapter Six: Goods and Professional Services and Chapter Nine: A Week’s Work.
As they have already been described in Chapter Two I won’t repeat myself.
