QDA Q-Management
Q-Management is the powerful base software package within ASI DATAMYTE’s QDA suite that facilitates achievement and verification of quality goals such as process control, cost reduction, process optimization and standard compliance documentation. Recognized as a leading CAQ (Computer-Aided Quality) solution, QDA is an essential tool for companies faced with implementing, integrating and automating quality management methods. Q-Management records, analyzes, documents and archives quality-related data from production processes, and facilitates the computer-aided performance of quality management activities, procedures and methods (quality planning, quality control and quality management). It is a crucial aid and strategic tool for securing and maintaining certification of a quality management system under quality standards such as ISO 9000 and ISO/TS 16949.Process optimization tool
Q-Management uses statistical methods to determine key indicators that are used for early identification and location of potential discrepancies. This means that decisions can be made more quickly and efficiently. It facilitates error prevention and reduction of defects, follow-up work and complaints. It improves process understanding and secures document steering.
Comprehensive reporting functions drive the creation of a solid knowledge base built on product and process data, resulting in rapid fault elimination, seamless integration and improved quality.
This in turn forms the basis for process optimization and opens up the potential for cost savings. QDA gives management an instrument that provides comprehensive information about the entire quality situation in the company at any time.
From stand-alone applications to
integrated solutions
The innovations, features and functionality of QDA software are the product of years of input from users spanning a variety of industries.
QDA runs with very little administrative input and, once installed, requires very little maintenance. Modules can be applied to any size of quality system – from stand-alone programs to group-wide solutions.
Software that works the way you want
it to work
QDA is very flexible and can be integrated seamlessly into existing processes and IT infrastructures. The interface adapts to the user and context so that primary functions are only a mouse click away. QDA is so easy
to implement, master and use that many
customers have come to consider Ease of Use
an ASI DATAMYTE trademark.\
Integrated Quality Solutions
QDA contains a long list of robust features
and functions, and empowers integration
with other suppliers’ ERP applications such as
SAP R/3. It does this using QDA‐Script, a
powerful macro programming language, to
build and exploit open interfaces. QDA is
modular, multi‐lingual and supports a broad
variety of measuring systems.
This means that you get a highly customized
solution configured to meet your specific
needs – one driven by standard software that
is subjected to continuous improvement and
hardening, and is rigorously tested and
proven.
Connectivity to test and measurement
devices
The introduction of new quality components
or systems often has
serious implications for the
test and measurement
equipment already in use.
ASI DATAMYTE’s QDA
integrates with hundreds of
measurement and test
devices, from legacy
systems to the latest
technologies, protecting
the investments you’ve
already made. QDA
includes interfaces to
higher‐level systems and
supports industry standards such as XML,
ODBC, FTP, DDE and COM/DCOM.
Control Plan
QDA Control Plan empowers comprehensive
planning – of all inspections across all
processes. Existing inspection plans can be
used to create new control plans easily and
efficiently.
Rather than copying one document into
another, direct links are made from the
control plan to appropriate fields in the
inspection plan. This way, changes to the
control plan are directly propagated into the
inspection plans and vice versa. Duplicate
inputs are avoided and changes are
documented in the version history. Process
flow diagrams, images, videos, work and test
instructions can each be assigned to a process
step. The most recent version can then be
displayed on every QDA workstation. This
ensures proper steering of documents
relevant to an inspection.
Inspection Planning
Q‐Management drives the generation of
detailed inspection plans and provides the
tools and options that make them perform.
These features make it easy to maintain part
lists, bill of material, work processes,
specifications, certificates and master data
for products, support and customer
requirements.
Central attributive fault trees, process
intervention documentation and random
inspection plans round
off the range of
functions. Documents
that accompany the
tests can be linked down
to the characteristic level
in any Windows format
as well as files in various
multimedia formats.
Characteristics,
inspections and
inspection plans are
linked via various
reference models to
simplify inspection planning as a whole.
Version management seamlessly documents
changes in the elements of the inspection
plan in accordance with standards. The user‐
friendly design of QDA Inspection Planning
and its high level of functionality give every
user an extremely efficient tool for day‐to‐
day quality management.
Action Management
A key capability of QDA is action
management, which enables planning and
provides a centralized source from which to
manage products and production processes,
and streamlines continuous improvement
Daily Report
The Daily Report offers a central QMS control
instrument that shows the quality situation of
the entire daily production, over all products,
all product features and all work processes, at
a glance. Measurement status is color‐coded.
RED indicates that tolerances have been
violated, YELLOW indicates a
control limit violation has
occurred and that
intervention is required,
GREEN indicates that
everything is OK, and that
the process is under control.
Double clicking on a process
with an error indicator takes
you directly to the affected
production steps,
characteristics and finally to
the control chart.
Capability Bars
Capability bars display sources of error for a
product, a product family or machine. The
standard template displays average value,
min/max values and scatter, vital data used in
determining quality status. The color‐coded
RED‐GREEN‐YELLOW bars provide the user
with a clear real time indication of production
quality.
SPC Capability Analysis
QDA offers many new options that go
beyond traditional analysis tools. The user
can switch between summary overviews and
the detailed views associated with individual
characteristics quickly and easily. User‐
specified, flexibly‐defined independent
variables can be incorporated into search
criteria and used to generate selective test
data and build custom reports.
Control Charts
The control charts are used to display
measurements over time or show
relationships between variables. QDA allows
the user to access all of the detailed
information associated with a given
inspection simply by double clicking on the
measurement data displayed.
Histograms and Probability Plots
QDA histograms and probability plots allow asimple assessment a variable’s distribution.
The class width and class center are
automatically calculated and graphically
displayed. As with the other QDA features
and functions, switching between graphs and
plots is easy and intuitive.
Key Statistical
Indicators
A variety of reporting
formats adapted to the
specific statistical
methods and indicators
used clearly
communicate your
findings, and can be
quickly assembled to
provide an overview on machine capability
and manufacturing processes.
A Variety of distribution models (normal, log‐
normal, Weibull and Johnson) allow you to
build reports appropriate for the quality data
generated by the statistical methods you
define.
Pareto Analysis
Quality data‐related events can be displayed
at any time in a tabular or pareto form using
QDA. This gives the user a clear indication of
possible error sources in his quality data
analysis.
Cost of Quality Analysis
Most frequent errors can be tallied and
displayed in tabular form, providing for the
inclusion of associated costs in the analysis.
Costs, previously established for each product
feature and work process, are weighted
according to the proportion of errors
indicated by the pareto analysis, and
calculated. This gives quality management
specific detailed information on the causes of
amount of savings that can be achieved by
addressing them.
Incoming and Outgoing Inspections
with Supplier Evaluation
QDA can collect and capture inspection data
as well as import and integrate data
originating from other ERP or MES systems.
The software accommodates statistical,
dynamic random and AQL random inspection
plans, as well as skip‐lot procedures.
Once the data has been entered, an appraisal
is made and the lot status can be
documented. QDA also includes a supplier
evaluation routine, which can be easily
updated at the end of incoming inspections.
Long-term Statistics
While the QDA Daily Report offers quality
management a quick, comprehensive cross‐
section of day‐to‐day production quality,
QDA long‐term statistics provide a focused
view of specific elements over days, weeks
and months. In addition to displaying
average values, Cp/Cpk, and Correlations,
long‐term statistics permit simple trend
assessment. QDA’s integrated search criteria
turn this into a very powerful analysis tool,
enabling machines, tools, lines or production
lots to be compared and evaluated from a
common platform.
Troubleshooting guide
QDA‘s Troubleshooting Guide (TSG) offers a
whole host of specific suggestions which can
be structured and expanded in any way you
like, and applied to necessary process
interventions. An initial error incident report
covering all parts in the database provides
you with a quick overview of problem
areas.Pareto analyses can then be set up the
way you want to investigate the problem‐
cause‐measure chain in detail.
Report Designer, a universal graphical
reporting tool
This tool allows you to manage complex
quality analyses using measurement data. It
produces quick, simple displays of
comprehensive measurement findings
collected from coordinate measuring
machines, multi‐gage and similar systems.
The Report Designer helps you to build
graphical reports based on standardized
forms. And while QDA allows you to
interface to virtually every measurement
system on the market the data captured and
stored in the QDA database feeds reports
that you are free to design and customize,
independent of the specific vendor or
statistical methods used. This saves time by
avoiding manual report generation and
provides you with the flexibility you need.
