on a single interactive map, leading to a greater understanding
of relationships and patterns. The nature of GIS data allows
projects to be assessed at any scale and is becoming a common
component of BIM Systems.
GIS data collection extends beyond traditional measured survey to include information about the features that are being surveyed. Shape files can be created in the field or office to suit the needs of the project and mobile data connectivity allows for the smooth flow of data between the two locations.
Once this information is downloaded into GIS software, the result is a rich interactive map allowing the user not only to view the attributed data, but also to interrogate, manipulate, analyse and present the map according to the surveyed data.
