DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR LIFE IS GOING?

THE LORD JESUS HAS A GREAT PLAN FOR YOU!

Quo Vadis Days is a vocation discernment camp for men entering 9th-12th grades that includes talks by local priests and seminarians on the priesthood, virtue, and fatherhood.

The event strikes an effective balance between the activity of a summer camp and the quiet of a retreat.

Prayer. Discernment. Brotherhood. Quo Vadis offers the structure of Holy Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours, Eucharistic Adoration, time for personal reflection and interaction with priests and seminarians, as well as the fun of activities, sports and fellowship. It is held at the Pontifical College Josephinum, where all Columbus seminarians study for the priesthood. Bishop Brennan will provide a closing Mass for the attendees and their families.

Ultimately, we hope to equip you with the tools and opportunity to discern God’s will in your life.

Details: Sunday, July 25-Wednesday, July 28, 2021. For young men entering grades 9-12 at The Pontifical College Josephinum – 7625 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43235. Cost is $40.00.

Scholarships available and donations accepted. Registration Deadline: July 16th. For registration and more info: http://www.

seekholiness.com/quo-vadis/.

Coronavirus and Quo Vadis 2021: Please continue to pray for all those affected by the Coronavirus and for an end to the pandemic. Registered men will be contacted as any Covid-related changes of plans are required. If you would like to attend, please sign up to save your spot. Payment doesn’t need to be made until you arrive for the retreat.

REAL PRESENCE, REAL FUTURE:.

16th Sunday in Ordinary Time, July 18, 2021 Real Presence, Real Future reflections: The Word of God – Alfred Akainyah, St. Anthony Parish & RPRF Commission Member. In today’s Gospel, the 12 go out in pairs to spread the Good News. When they return, Jesus gathers them to a place of rest to lift their Spirits, but the people of the area arrive, hungry for the Good News, believing, that a word from God exceeds every need and raises anyone willing to believe above their circumstances! We too, with Real Presence, Real Future, are called and entreated to bring the Good News to others in our words and deeds. We should have time for others and be open to unexpected demands, for this is the true meaning of discipleship. To read more about how we are growing together in the life of faith and discipleship in the Diocese of Columbus, visit www.RealPresenceRealFuture.org.

IN SYMPATHY:

Michael Kline passed away on June 30th. Anthony Scott passed away on June 30.

BOTTLES FOR LIFE CAMPAIGN 2021:

Each year, we partner with local churches in Licking, Muskingum, and Perry counties to raise funds for the life-saving services provided through Heartbeats to abortion-vulnerable women and families.

Many families desperately need the resources and support Heartbeats provides! Because of the ongoing generosity of our communities, Heartbeats has been able to offer services at NO COST for over 50 years! Bottles for Life helps to teach and promote the sanctity of human life and provides a meaningful and practical opportunity for individuals and families to demonstrate their compassion for the unborn and for families who have no one else to help them through their pregnancy and child-rearing journey. Be a part of her story by giving today and help us to continue to provide all of our services at NO COST! You can “fill up” the bottle in the back of the Gym or you can donate virtually by going to https://secure.goemerchant.

com/secure/custompayment/heartbeats/12509/default.aspx and help us reach our goal of $99,000! This will cover all medical services for 2021.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

Genesis Hospital is in need of Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. This is a rewarding ministry in which one receives more than one gives. Training specific to the hospitalized will be provided. For more information or to register, call Sr. Bernadette at 740-454-5903 or 740-454-5859. Thank you.

CCD TEACHERS NEEDED:

CCD is around the corner – we are looking for a handful of volunteer CCD Teachers. September will be here before we know it, and that means CCD is not far off. As always, this program can only operate through the giving of time through our Parishioners. Should you feel called to offer your time and talents for the betterment of the youth in our Parish – you are who God needs for these children. Please contact Rob Rodgers at rrodgers@saintthomaszanesville.

org for more information, or text at 740-617-6953. Watch the bulletins and the Church doors for more information and registration forms.

RCIA:

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) will start up again on October 4th. Should you know anyone who desires to enter the Catholic Church, or deepen their existing knowledge of the faith please contact Rob Rodgers at rrodgers@saintthomaszanesville.

org for more information, or text at 740-617-6953. Watch the bulletins and the Church doors for more information and registration forms. All are welcome to attend the Sessions – these evenings can provide an excellent learning opportunity for all.

NET MINISTRIES:

NET Ministries will be returning to work with the youth of Muskingum County again this year! Through their Catalyst Nights, area youth from 8th grade through High School are challenged to deepen their relationship with Christ. Evenings of inspiring talks, games, food, and great fellowship these evenings offer an excellent opportunity to not only grow in our faith but enjoy solid fellowship and a great environment. Each year over a hundred youth 18-25 years of age give a year of their life to travel around the country for NET Ministries, to share their love of Gospel with those on retreat.

For more information about NET check out their website at www.

netusa.org. Retreats will begin in October this year and will be held once a month on Sunday nights from 6:00-8:30. Watch the bulletin and the Church doors for more information. The retreats are free . . . and did we say there was food? Dinner is provided!

FAITH & ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITY

We are once again offering an annual subscription to parishioners at a group discounted rate for the Magnificat. Magnificat is designed for daily use to follow along with the Mass; and contains essays on the lives of the saints, meditations, and articles giving insight to masterpieces of sacred art. This would be an exceptional aid during this time of physical separation from the church and participating in the Mass online. The regular subscription rate is $47.00, but Saint Thomas parishioners can receive this lovely pocket- sized enrichment guide once a month for a full year for only

$36.00. Interested? Please complete the form below and send it, along with payment to Keri Dailey no later than September 1. Checks may be made payable to Saint Thomas Aquinas Church; please write the words “Magnificat” in the memo portion of the check. The booklets will be delivered to the Parish Office each month.
