FAQ’S

What is the difference between online and face to face?

The online courses are conducted entirely online through the student

portal. They are self directed with weekly deadlines and assignments to

complete. All resources are accessed through the student portal. Students

will need to read notes and case studies and prepare documents and letters

where required. Students will need to ensure they have access to reliable

high speed internet access, latest version web browser, access to email,

word processing software, PDF reader/converter and printer.

Face to face courses cover similar material. However, they are conducted in

a lecture style with some student participation in the form of class

activities and discussion.

Is there a discount for members?

Yes, any student working for/have worked for/ or is currently a full member

of the Law Society of NSW is eligible for member’s rate for course fees.

Students will need to have access to a member’s login to receive the

discounted rate when applying online. Payment needs to be received in full

before a place in the course can be reserved. Fast track your application by

applying online at:

www.lawsociety.com.au/cpd

. Courses are located under

“Practice Management”.

Will this course be recognised by other training organisations?

The Law Society courses are industry recognised but are not registered

with external regulatory bodies. Other education institutions may

recognise these courses as credit for prior study. However, this is subject to

the relevant institution’s policies and procedures for prior learning. There is

no formal arrangement to recognise the Law Society courses as prior study.
