WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course requires limited prior knowledge of interaction design or user experience design. The GUI Interaction Design course is appropriate for web developers, market research analysts, project managers, UI designers, interaction designers, visual designers, QA specialists or anyone responsible for websites, web apps, intranet content management, information management, or user experience of a product. There are no prerequisites to this course; however, participation in the Introduction to User Experience Design & Experience Thinking course is recommended for individuals who are new to the user experience field.

1 day, 9:00am – 4:30pm

A full-day session with a one-hour lunch break.

REGISTRATION COST

$595/£475 per person

Course cost is per person as stated plus tax with a minimum 3 participants per course. Akendi reserves the right to cancel a scheduled training session up to 5 business days prior to the training if a minimum class size of 3 participants has not been attained.

CERTIFICATION

The GUI Interaction Design course is an integral component of the User Experience Specialist (CXS) and User Experience Designer (CXD)

certifications. These certifications will open doors and arm you with powerful tools for designing exceptional products and user experiences. Participants are free to complete certifications on a course-by-course basis or sign-up for the full certification at a discounted rate. We recommend participants interested in either of these certifications make the Introduction to User Experience Design & Experience Thinking course their first step.

USER EXPERIENCE SPECIALIST™ (CXS™) CERTIFICATION

This is our full program. Courses cover research, design, and testing to give the UX specialist a deep and comprehensive understanding of UX process and the skills to apply it. This course includes 9 full days of training and a 3-hour certification exam.

USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER™ (CXD™) CERTIFICATION

The design track deepens skills and knowledge in information design, interaction design and visual design, leading to improved web, mobile and software user experiences. This course includes 5 full days of training and a 3-hour certification exam.

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHER™ (CXR™) CERTIFICATION

The research track focuses on research and analysis of customers and users. Although participants are not required to take the Mobile User Experience Design course for certification, we recommend the mobile course as an add-on for those interested in exploring the mobile UX domain. This course includes 5 full days of training and a 3-hour certification exam.

To achieve this goal, Daniel applies knowledge and techniques from engineering, computer science, psychology and anthropology learned while completing a Doctorate in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo with a focus on human factors, cognitive ergonomics and user-centered design.
