Two brands – one concept:

Perfection in form and function.

Dada is to use GRASS movement systems in future

MESERO (I) / HÖCHST (A). In its latest collection, Italian kitchen manufacturer Dada will be relying on the innovative movement system Vionaro from GRASS. For the GRASS Group, this marks the beginning of a collaboration with the market leader for exclusive premium kitchens that offers both sides attractive prospects for the future.

Italian design would be inconceivable without the accomplished mastery of traditional firms of craftsmen. In many industrial fields, successful family businesses rank among the world’s top league because of their

uncompromising commitment to quality. Dada, a company belonging to the Molteni Group, is a renowned case in point. Top-brand kitchens from

Mesero near Milan can be found at prestigious addresses such as the 57th

floor of the Federation Tower in Moscow or 40 Mercer Residences in New York’s SoHo district, designed by Pritzker laureate Jean Nouvel. Dada kitchens are also part of the top-of-the range fittings in the 144 exclusive Armani Residences in the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

When it came to the latest line in Dada kitchen models, the designers of this long-established company were looking for a drawer solution that would harmonise perfectly with the look and functionality of their high-end creation. Meanwhile at GRASS, development of the innovative movement system Vionaro was in full swing. Perfect timing: the product aroused Dada’s interest. “We noticed immediately that Vionaro came very close to

our vision of a movement system,” says a delighted Andrea Molteni, head of Dada’s design and development department.

Vionaro –complete solution with minimalist elegant aesthetic

With the new drawer system Vionaro, GRASS is introducing a new age in concealed slide systems. The cubist-inspired complete solution combines an extremely slender drawer side design with the technology of the red dot award winner Dynapro. Already proven millions of times over in practical use, this slide system with three-dimensional adjustability features outstanding load capacity of up to 60 kilos as well as synchronised movement throughout.

Vionaro’s two slender drawer sides with a width of just 13 mm are set on the Dynapro system which completely revolutionised the market for concealed slide systems. Cubist in design and perfectly styled in sleek aluminium as well as in steel. “Our goal was to create an absolutely purist and linear look for Vionaro, which elegantly conceals the Dynapro

technology,” explains Ronald Weber, chairman of the GRASS board. This has been accomplished with an entirely smooth aluminium drawer side which is perfectly perpendicular and offers a totally uninterrupted surface. In its elegant simplicity, Vionaro allows scope for every

conceivable furniture design. The perfect front connection also ensures top stability and entirely homogeneous surfaces. “We’re proud to have created a milestone in movement with Vionaro, one which is ideal for modern living spaces,” says chief developer Günter Grabher.

GRASS movement expertise in Dada kitchens

For the management of Dada, Vionaro marks the successful start of a collaboration with GRASS that is aimed at the long term. As a next step, Dada will also be using the Tiomos hinge system and the full-range drawer programme Nova Pro in their kitchen models.

“Movement systems are an essential element in our developments,” explains Angelo Bonacorsi. “This is where the functionality behind the aesthetically smooth façade proves itself: perfect motion, ample storage space, quiet movements and much more besides – our customers have very high expectations.” The managing director of Dada is certain: “With GRASS, we have found a competent partner who can continue to support us with intelligent ideas and top-quality implementation in the future.”

Brand cooperation with long-range possibilities

GRASS is also excited by the prospects this collaboration holds for international markets. “We are exploring the idea of conducting joint research into design and functionality, and developing visionary products,” emphasises GRASS global brand manager Harald Klüh. “When two brands get together on the basis of constructive mutual support, success is just a question of time. With Dada, we have succeeded in winning a world-class partner with whom we share so much common ground. Like the passion for outstanding workmanship – and impeccable performance that leaves no room for doubt.”

The première of the collaboration between Dada and GRASS movement systems will be celebrated with a presentation to coincide with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan from 9 to 14 April 2013.
