technologies. During these sessions, you are encouraged to ask questions specific to your applications.

Technology Café

Don’t miss the exciting Technology Café where you can see the Siemens automation and drives portfolio and talk with Siemens experts in an informal, hands-on environment.

The Technology Café will provide the following and more:

n We will showcase the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Scalable Solutions wall that will highlight compact, mid-range, alternative and high-end solutions for automation

applications. These TIA solutions increase your engineering efficiency by up to 30% across

the production lifecycle, allowing you to beat deadlines, quickly adapt to market demands, and minimize downtime.

n Whether you’re engineering a complex batch process, modernizing from a legacy platform, or operating your critical safety instrumented system, our team of process automation experts will show you how the latest PCS 7 technology can help reduce costs and increase your productivity.

n Want to see the latest developments in state-of-the-art variable speed drives technology? We will display our complete offering of low voltage SINAMICS drives

and motion control SIMOTION controllers, as well as application-specific information

showcasing the breadth of our technologies and products. Come and explore how we can offer you higher performance drives that save energy and lower your costs.

Training

We encourage you to join us for training courses led by Siemens technology experts. New this year! We are offering training classes throughout the Summit. Students will share work stations and have hands-on access to product equipment. All courses include a certificate of completion that can be submitted for professional hours. Registration is limited, so try to make your plans in advance. However, you can still sign up at the Summit if space permits.

Select your classes during event registration from the list below: nWhat we’ve got here is NOT failure to communicate –

PROFINET & Ethernet/IPTM with SINAMICS Drives Join Siemens as we demonstrate how seamless it is to use

Siemens’ products on both EtherNet/IPTM and PROFINET

communication protocols. In this workshop, you will commission a SINAMICS G120 drive using STARTER; a solid and time-tested drive program software. You will see a demonstration of the drive being controlled first by the SIMATIC S7-1500 and then by the Rockwell ControlLogix. You will witness the simplicity of switching the drive between protocols and learn some of the “value added” benefits of using Siemens drives. All products will be connected through our SCALANCE XR-300 switch and be remotely operated via our ComfortPanel Touch HMI. nSIMATIC S7-1500F Safety Controller Hands-On Experience Gain a fundamental understanding of what makes a safety

system and how safety and productivity can be increased, giving a competitive advantage when using Siemens Totally Integrated Automation systems with safety integrated.

nPCS 7 Alarm Management Best Practices

This session will review the existing and new functionality of PCS 7 alarm management from a configuration, operation and maintenance perspective. You will learn from a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on experience how to effectively use the PCS 7 alarm management tools to improve the operator’s experience and plant safety.

nSIMATIC Ident – New UHF Reader Generation Hands-On Training

Learn about the SIMATIC Ident product portfolio and which applications can be served. Get your hands-on the new UHF readers and experience how easy the integration into a PLC and PC system is. In this training, we will demonstrate the new web interface and show how to use UHF algorithms to overcome UHF challenges in manufacturing.

nPCS 7 V8.1 Update Workshop

Please join us to learn more about the latest release PCS 7 V8.1 via a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on experiences across three topics:

Technology Café (continued)

n Are you aware of the services available to complement and extend the product lifecycle? Join our service consultants in the ‘Hub’ to discuss how you can improve your plant productivity. Our experts can also give you tips on how to adapt to new demands while staying reliable and sustainable with your business operations.

n Are cyber threats putting your production at risk? We can help define and build a custom cybersecurity defense for your plant’s

industrial control system. Stop by to learn more about our solutions for protecting your critical assets and how we use global threat intelligence to manage your security posture against current and evolving threats.

n If you’re looking to make your plant smarter and safer while reducing service costs, join our experts to learn more about SIMOCODE TIASTAR™ Smart MCC, now including Ethernet. It can be integrated with PCS 7 and the TIA Portal.
