Document Camera

1. Connect via USB cord from  document camera to laptop/ computer. (Usually tan cord.)  2. Turn on document camera. If it is  the first time being connected to the  computer, the driver software  automatically installs.  3. On the document camera, switch  from "computer" to "camera." 4. Document camera will display  image from directly under it. You  may adjust the projected image by  the controls on the camera.

1. To capture image, you will need to open Image Mate software.  2. Click on Office button        , type Image Mate. 

3. Select Image Mate for Presentation from the menu.

3. Click on Tools, then "Still Capture". The image will appear in a new window  within the program screen. From there, you may save the image to import into your  Notebook file. via Image Mate software Note: the SMART document  camera icon does not work  for capturing images because  KSD does not use the  SMART brand of document  cameras. This is the reason  for needing the Image Mate  for Presentation software.

SMART Board Tools

1. Click on the Office button and type Smart Board Tools into the search field.

2. When Smart Board Tools 2013 appears in the list, click on it to launch the tools.

3. If you are not connected to the SMART Board, you will see the red x in the corner of the icon.

4. Click on the SMART Board Tools and a menu of options appear.

Recorder

Recorder allows you to record any process on your computer, not just from within SMART Notebook.

SMART Recorder is a bit different from the Page Recording feature found in the Properties Tab in that the Page Recording feature can only capture

processes done on the page within Notebook.

1. Begin by clicking on the Record button. By default, it is set to record the desktop. I find it is best to keep it this way.

2. Complete the steps to the process you are

recording, then press the Stop button when you are finished. (You may also press the pause button to temporarily stop and resume your recording.)

3. The Save As window will appear. Make your selection to where you want the file to save.

4. Click the Save button.

*By default, the file will save with the current date & time.

5. Another window will appear showing the process of your

download. When complete, you have the option to Play or Share. You do NOT have to make a selection. 6. Click the OK button.

SMART Video Player

Select File > Open in SMART Video Player, browse 

to and select the video file that you want to play, and  then press Open

Select Settings > Playback Speed, and then select a playback speed from the list.

SMART Video Player will play any .avi or .wmv file.

Browse for video files, download, view through 

SMART video player.

Other Smart Tools

1. Once you select Smart Board Tools 2013, the icon will appear in your task bar. If your computer is NOT connected to a Smart Board, you will see a red x on the Smart Board Tools icon, but you will still be able to use the tools on your computer.

Click on Other SMART Tools and the following menu appears:

Screen Shade: Shades all or part of your page.

Spotlight: Spotlights one part of your page while the rest is shaded out.

Magnifier: Magnifies a certain section of your screen.

Calculator:

Pointer: Inserts an arrow for you to use as a pointer to different objects on your page.

Screen Capture Toolbar: Captures information on your screen.

Moving Pages

1. Open the Notebook file from where you want to move pages. 2. Open the Notebook file to where you want to receive pages.

3. Click on the Restore icon to resize your 1st Notebook file window.

4. Drag the window to snap to the side of your computer screen. 5. Repeat the same process for the 2nd Notebook file window. **Watch video below to view process.
