GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE

ADMINISTRATOR’S CORNER

NEW MEMBERS

PRELATE

On May 24, 2012, I was installed as Governor of the Dale City Moose Family Center #2165. I would like at this time to thank the members for giving me the opportunity to represent them as their Governor. I would also like to thank Bob Skinner for the outstanding job he and his officers did over the past year.

In the next few weeks I will be looking for assistance in filling key positions in numerous committees at the lodge and will be asking for volunteers. I would also like to have all members provide ideas on how to improve our lodge and gain more membership. I have a few ideas on how to improve the outside area of the lodge and will be bringing my ideas to the officers and will be presenting them in the near future. I would like all members who have the opportunity to come to our officers’ meeting the second and last Thursday’s of each month and give their thoughts on how to improve our lodge.

Again, thanks for the opportunity and let’s all work together to improve and have a great year at the lodge.

Marty Ratchford Governor

Thanks to the WOTM for buying a slide and climbing set for our playground and to Ken Grimm, Rick Moore, and Kevin

“Country” Koster for putting it together.

Congratulations to the newly elected officers. Todd House resigned as second year Trustee so we need to hold an election for that office. It will be held on August 9 at the regular meeting. Ifth you want to run for Trustee, see a member of the Nominating Committee or an Officer.

We don’t pay our waitress so please buss your table before you leave. It will help us keep our prices low.

Don O’Connor Administrator

Board of Officers

It is with deep regret and sorrow that we report the death of our past governor, Marcel Bedard. Marcel was chairman of the lodge Community Service Committee. His committee won numerous national and state awards during the eleven years he ran the committee. He was a fantastic contributor to the success of the lodge.

Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife, children, and grandchildren. I know he will be terribly missed.

May God bless Marcel and provide comfort to his family.

Hello WOTM,

The 4 of July parade is something that the men and women of the Moose look forward to every year. We want to be ableth to take first place again this year. As of the date of this mailer, I did not have the time details of the parade but as soon as we do, they will be posed within the lodge. Kids will be welcome again to ride with us down the parade route on the float, but they MUST be accompanied by a parent.

The additions for the play ground have been completed. We want to give special thanks to Ken Grimm, Kevin (Country) Koster, and Rick Moore for taking the time and effort to put together the new equipment which includes slide and rock climb wall, etc. So please stop and take a look and bring the kids to enjoy the ‘new’ extras.

In June we were able to fill the vacant Secretary/Treasurer position. Welcome to our newest officer, Wanda Jenkins. We look forward to her views and ideas to help the chapter grow and prosper this year. When you see Wanda within the lodge and during our functions, please welcome her aboard.

To our bakers, cookies and cupcake makers, we are having a bake sale raffle on the 22 . Since our bake sales are one ofnd our biggest draws and everyone loves and enjoys the variety of tasty treats, we are asking that you make and drop off your favorite desserts by 11:30 a.m. on the 22 for the raffle. If you would like to help selling the raffles and the drawings, please let me know.nd We will have a “Refresh Your Summer” Basket raffle from July 23 through the 29 . The basket will include some oddsrd th and ends to help keep you in the spirit of summer along with refreshing ideas to include an ABC gift card and other treats. Raffle tickets will be $1.00 per ticket or six for $5.00. Basket will be displayed in the lodge during the raffle week.

We are still collecting toner and ink cartridges as well as cell phones, cords, and all accessories. We are also accepting Box Tops for Education, Campbell’s labels, Coke rewards, and many others. The collection box and list is located within the lodge.

Ladies, again thank you fro all your contributions and support. Let’s keep up the great work. See you at the lodge.
