SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
1 RULES 1.1

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing
The rules of Danish Championships for sailing will apply
1.3 The following prescriptions of the Nordic Sailing Federation and the Danish Sailing Association will apply:
When RRS 30.2, 30.3 or 30.4 apply, the base of the triangle mentioned in these rules shall be the starting line and the extension of the starting line to the starting vessel.
Danish legislation requires every boat to be equipped with personal buoyancy for the number of persons on board at any time.1.4 Racing rules will be changed as follows:
Rule 33 (a) is changed, so that sufficient signal, when changing position of the next mark is flag C with repetitive sound signals. See SI 11
Rules 35, A4 and A5 are changed to state, that boats failing to finish within 20 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish. See 14.2
Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. See 13.
Rule 60.1(a) is changed to state, that a competitor cannot base a protest or request for redress on breaches for some specific parts of the sailing instructions. See 15.5.Rule A4 and A5 are changed, so that at boat starting later than 4 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start. See 10.5.

2 NOTICE TO COMPETITORS
Notices to competitors will be posted on Manage2Sail.com and on the official notice board located next to the stairs in the club house.
3 CHANGES TO THE SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted before 0830 on the day it will take effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted by 2000 on the day before it will take effect.
4 SIGNALS MADE ASHORE
4.1 Signals made ashore will be displayed from the flagpole in front of the clubhouse.
4.2 When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced with ‘not less than 30 minutes’ in the race signal AP.
5 SCHEDULE OF RACES

5.2 The warning signal for each succeeding race will be made as soon as practicable.

10.1 Races will be started by using Rule 26.
10.2 To alert boats that a race or sequence of races will begin soon, an orange flag will be displayed with one sound for at least 5 minutes before a warning signal is displayed.
10.3 The starting order is signaled by the display of the class flag. The starting order can be changed.
10.4 The starting line will be between the starting marks (see Appendix A).
10.5 When a starting sequence is on progress, boats whose warning signal has not been made shall avoid the starting area. The starting area is defined as a rectangle 50 meters from the starting line and marks in all directions.
10.6 A boat starting later than 4 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start without a hearing. This changes RRS A4 and A5.
10.7 After a long postponement, to alert boats that a race or sequence of races will begin soon, the orange starting line flag will be displayed with one sound for at least five minutes before a warning signal is displayed.
11 COURSE CHANGES
11.1 To change the next leg of the course, the Race Committee will move the original mark, the finishing line, or the leeward gate to a new position.
11.2 When changing position of the next mark only flag C will be shown with repetitive sound signals. This changes Rule 33(a).
12 THE FINISH
The finishing line will be between blue flags on finishing marks (see Appendix A).
13 PENALTY SYSTEM
Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One- Turn Penalty.
14 TARGET TIMES AND TIME LIMITS
14.1 The target time is 30 minutes and is not ground for request for redress.
14.2 Boats failing to finish within 15 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish without a hearing. This changes rules 35, A4 and A5.
15 PROTESTS AND REQUESTS FOR REDRESS
15.1 Protest forms are available at the Race Office. Protests and requests for redress or reopening shall be delivered there within the appropriate time limit.
15.2 The protest time limit is 60 minutes after the last boat has finished the last race of the day.
15.3 Notices will be posted within 30 minutes of the protest time limit to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties or named as witnesses.
Hearings will be held in the jury room (location: see official notice board), beginning at the time posted. Hearings may be scheduled to begin up to 30 minutes before the end of protest time.
15.4 Notices of protests by the Race Committee will be posted to inform boats under RRS 61.1(b).
15.5 Breaches of instructions 17, 20, 21 and 22 will not be grounds for a protest by a boat. This changes rule 60.1(a).
Penalties for these breaches may be less than disqualification if the protest committee so decides. The scoring abbreviation for a discretionary penalty imposed under this instruction will be DPI.
15.6 On the last scheduled day of racing a request for redress based on a protest committee decision shall be delivered no later than 30 minutes after the decision was posted. This changes rule 62.2.
16 SCORING
16.1 Four (4) race are required to constitute a Danish Championship.
16.2 (a) When fewer than 3 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When from 3 to 7 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
(c) When 8 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
17 SAFETY REGULATIONS
17.1 All competitors shall wear personal flotation devices at all times while afloat, except briefly while changing or adjusting clothing or personal equipment. Wet suits and dry suits are not personal flotation devices.
17.2 A boat that retires from a race shall notify the race committee as soon as possible.
18 REPLACEMENT OF CREW OR EQUIPMENT 18.1

Substitution of competitors will not be allowed without written approval of the race committee.
Substitution of damaged or lost equipment, limited by the class rules, will not be allowed unless authorized by the Race Committee. Requests for
substitution shall be made to the committee at the first reasonable opportunity.
19 EQUIPMENT AND MEASUREMENT CHECKS
There will be no equipment and measurement checks, but boats must comply with the class rules.
20 SUPPORT BOATS
20.1 Support boats shall stay at least 50 meters from any racing boat, and they shall not interfere with boats racing or official boats or create a wave that affects boats racing.
20.2 All support boats are a part of the safety setup and are expected to render assistance to any boat in distress. When rendering safety assistance SI 20.1 is not in effect.
Furthermore, support boats are expected to follow any instruction given by the race committee in case of foul weather or other critical situations.
20.3 The race committee will use VHF channel 72 to communicate with support boats.
21 TRASH DISPOSAL
Boats shall not intentionally put trash in the water. Trash may be placed aboard support and Race Committee boats.
22 RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
23 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
24 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of DKK 2.000.000 per event or the equivalent.
25 PRIZES
Official Medals will be awarded according to DM Statutes. Additional prizes on a ration of 1 for every 5 entries.
