Funding is requested towards the cost of installing cooking facilities within Corkerhill Community Hub in order to meet current and future needs of the local Community.

The Hub is currently using portable equipment to prepare 150 hot meals to those most Vulnerable Residents many of whom have limited support. In addition the Hub is being used to receive food donations and the distribution of foodbank parcels.

The development of the facility will ensure the hub continues to serve the local community and is accessible to serving the needs of a range of community groups as well as being

Glasgow South - Equipment PRN: 240/18

Funding is requested towards the purchase of tablets and Wi-Fi hotspots in response to the current Covid 19, Homestart Glasgow South services have now moved online and many of the Families and in particular those with Young Children are the most vulnerable and do not have the

necessary Digital IT in order to access online services and support is often confined to telephone contact

Access to online services will maintain contact with those most Vulnerable Families and ensure their safety as well as provide Young People the opportunity to gain peer support, keep up with their educational needs, be an entertainment source and alleviating stress during the current Pandemic

In addition funding is requested towards the purchase of 2 laptops for staff purposes as current IT Equipment is over 7 years and often break down

Pollok Fun Club - St Conval’s Community Breakfast Costs

PRN: 090/20

Funding is requested towards the cost of supporting the Friday Breakfast Club that has been successfully running since October 2019 and continues to attract both Young and Older

Residents, many of whom are often isolated and vulnerable and the breakfast club is an opportunity for neighbours to socialise whilst enjoying a free breakfast in a safe and

welcoming environment

As well as purchase of food, funding is requested to support the costs of purchasing kitchen , resources and replacement of kitchen cupboards it is further proposed that funds will be utilised towards the purchase of 2 laptops for access to all Residents attending the breakfast club enabling access to online employment

opportunities as well as completion of job applications and CV’s

Funding is requested towards the cost of a trip to Blackpool for 27 Young People with additional support needs and their Parents/Carers for 3 nights from 7th to 10th August 2020

Many of the Young People and their Families are often isolated and the Allsorts Group provides a range of activities that supports not only the Young People but their Families

providing opportunities to socialize and make friends and the aim of the

proposed trip is towards improving mental health and wellbeing.

A total of 5 Young People and their Families reside within Greater Pollok Ward and due to caring responsibilities none of the Parents/Carers are in employment with their only income being Carers Allowance

Purpose of Grant:

- Three night break in Bond Hotel Blackpool for 27 (13 £7,475 Match funding: - £810 (Contribution applicants £30 per head) £1,334 - (£6,665 split between 3 Area Partnerships) Award £200 - (Based on the £1,000 maximum award levels for residential trips)

This award is pro-rata with the following area partnerships

Funding is requested to support the cost of delivering the Dragon Marks and Gold Star Performances within identified Schools across the City from January - March 2021

Performances focus on themes such as peer pressure, respect, bullying etc. within School and Home environment and performance is then followed up with a workshop to explore the main themes and give young people the information required should they need help or support.

The initiative contributes to the city’s white Ribbon Campaign and a total of 150 Pupils will participate from Greater Pollok Ward Purpose of Grant: - 12 x Crush Performances at £500 each (£6,000) £13,650 Match Funding:

Funding is requested towards the costs of delivering the Greater Pollok

Silverlinings Project that was

developed following conversations with Local Residents and Partner Agencies in which it was identified that many Greater Pollok Residents are

struggling with anxiety, isolation and general low levels of well-being as a result of the Covid 19 crisis

It is proposed the Project will be delivered in 3 stages:

Stage 1

The project will begin on social media and together with Partners across the Pollok 80/20 and Thriving Places networks stories of 'Silverlings' and conversations will be shared on a Facebook page and could include;

- small instances of achievement, such as finally finishing a book making a

Stage 2

When lockdown is relaxed look to engage with people in a more tangible way and build on stories, while

observing social distancing. Ideally working with small groups to illustrate the stories or source/take photographs of the key people/community in the case of not being able to deliver any face to face sessions, provide art materials to community members for them to both create art interventions across the community and to

photograph and share

Stage 3

The stories will be edited together with the artwork/photographs and compiled into a book which will be launched at a community event, in a celebration of the resilience, kindness, grit and hope displayed by the People of Greater Pollok that will be shared across the area

Glasgow Clyde College -

Gift Tech Digital Response to COVID 19 PRN 569/19

Funding is requested towards the cost of recycling ICT equipment as part of the College Gift Tech Project which is in response to the digital demands and digital inequality that has become more apparent during the COVID 19 crisis.

The College Gift Tech Project is a voluntary project driven by Students and Staff and the aim of the project is to support People within local

communities who are on low incomes or benefits or who may be dropping out of learning due to the lack of ICT equipment, putting them at risk of further social exclusion

Through Gift Tech, Clyde College will provide fifty refurbished PCs laptops or tablets to community groups working

Funding is requested to support the costs of engaging the services of a local Calming Minds Therapist in order to support individuals and groups of Children on a weekly basis (every Friday) within the school and

Parents/Carers will also be offered the opportunity to participate in sessions with their Children.

Through weekly phone calls with Families during School closures, there is an increasing awareness of the psychological and emotional difficulties that Children and their Families are going through during this global pandemic and it is crucial that

mechanisms are in place that can help support Children when they return to School with many anticipated to be affected by trauma and stress.

Calming Minds has a long term focus on improving health and wellbeing and support will be tailored around

individual needs in discussion with staff and across four terms of the School year approximately 60 Children and Families will benefit from this opportunity

Funding is requested towards the cost of delivering free facilitated Lego and Games Activity Learning sessions every Saturday for up to 20 Children

Pollok Library is the hub of the Pollok Community and it is envisaged the activity will assist with Children and Families health & wellbeing and will assist with positive interaction and building relationships as well as being an important aspect of brain

development through encouraging Children of all ages to learn in a fun way and this includes Children with additional support needs and Children and their Families whose first language is not English

Purpose of Grant:

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it impossible for physical meetings of the Group to take place within Pollok Civic Realm and through the purchase of relevant digital resources the aim is to continue offering virtual support to 20 People and their Families within the Greater Pollok ward in the coming months, whilst being in a position to grow the Group.
