The Certificate is an industry recognised and University accredited qualification worth 60 credits, which can be later contributed towards a further qualification, such as a Diploma or Degree.

The course is largely based on guided, independent study; however, students are allocated a personal tutor for the duration of the course. The role of the personal tutor is to offer students guidance and support during their studies and throughout their assignments. Tutors are committed to returning any email query within 48 hours and students can access a weekly webinar discussion alongside peers, led by their tutor. Generally, students of the University who present written referrals from a quality approved association such as the London School of Beauty & Make-up are welcomed by employers and so coordinating a work placement is easier.
Credits can be put towards further qualifications
A huge advantage of this course is that should students choose to continue their studies; the 60 credits attained through the Certificate can be put towards a further qualification such as a Diploma or Degree at a later date.
Alternatively, on course completion should graduates decide to focus on employment, then they are accredited with a highly regarded qualification.
This introductory module offers a general background to the industry, incorporating the history of beauty alongside modern day developments; including the need for Government endorsed organisations and the role of leading brands within the market.
This general overview will provide students with a solid foundation, from which they can develop their

The final module focuses on the interpersonal dimensions of a successful business, considering sales skills, marketing strategies and the importance of establishing a strong clientele. Students will cover content ranging from good staff management, to business awareness and promotion
Working in such a competitive industry often means that a sustainable and successful business is dependent on the strength of its marketing and promotion. Students will learn how to really identify their target audience and discover the various channels of marketing and advertising available to them; alongside the most viable channels based on cost and their target audience. Students will be taught how to devise more attractive offers at a local and national level as well as through the media; learning how to differentiate between long and short term marketing plans and strategic calenderisation of the business year.
Despite the importance of having strong finance and business skills; the time, energy and resources invested into your company would be redundant if your workforce failed to deliver a professional service to ensure that clients returned.
