0.0 PURPOSE

0.1  The Purpose of this Task Methodology is to ensure a detail control, set correct practices for the scaolding works through the general and specic procedures contained herein and dene the procedure of the scaolding works for the painting of LNG storage tanks and associated piping at Qatar Gas Onshore !pansion Pro"ect as per #$#, %T&', Qatar Gas specications and QG ## (caolding %odes of Practices)

1.0 SCOPE OF WORK  

1.1  This docu*ent co+ers the procedures to e co*plied with for the erection, inspection and dis*antling of scaolding works necessary to gain access, where (urface Preparation and Painting works are to e carried out at staircase and e*ergency ladder cage area Qatar Gas ## LNG (torage tanks and associated piping for the Qatar Gas Onshore !pansion Pro"ect, -as Laan, Qatar in strict accordance with %lient re.uire*ents and /( 0123 4 %ode of practices)

(caolding work has to e done at the ladder escape locations, staircase, down co*er pipes and on the roof of the tanks and where e+er there is ostruction to use gondolas)

5.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

5.1  The supply of all scaolding *aterials and accessories at stair case area, e*ergency ladders and associated piping to e the responsiility of %ape) 5.2  The supply of co*petent (uper+isor and (caolders to e the responsiility

of %ape)

@ The scaolding inspector< super+isor shall e responsile for the inspection and appro+e for use erected scaolds and *aintain a scaold register) $e will e reporting to the site Manager) $e is responsile for the inspection of scaolding *aterials signatory or sca7tag after weekly inspections)

c@ The (caolding Aore*an will e responsile for the i*ple*entation of  the works) 6irectly reporting to (ite Manager)

d@ (afety oBcer will closely *onitor the acti+ity and reco**end precautionary safety *easures to the concerned super+isor if any unsafe act and condition noted during the acti+ity

6.0 MATERIALS/ EUIPMENT/ RESOURCES

as per tale : Eappendi! :@ in line with the /ritish (tandard /( 0123F:113 4 %ode of Practice for working scaolds and special scaold structures in steel)

 (caolds shall e erected, *odied or dis*antled only y .ualied scaold personnel)

 8ll such .ualied work*en shall operate under the control of a .ualied super+isor)

 Prior to the starting of any erection, *odication or dis*antling acti+ity the location shall e arricaded with warning tape and sign oards placed)

  The erection, *odication or dis*antling of scaolding shall e in line with /(0123 %ode of practices, Technical Manual, Qatar Gas<%T&'<#$# specication and pro"ect re.uire*ents)

 5here+er possile, erecting or dis*antling the scaold will work fro* *ini*u* of a three oard run) #t is not acceptale for scaolders to e perched on tues, unless a fall arrest de+ice is pro+ided and secured to a suitale ao+e head height anchorage point at all ti*es)

 Ladders will e properly lashed throughout the +ertical height of a scaold as it progresses) recting the scaold will use the ladders to gain access to the working le+els)

  Tues or oards eing used in the construction of the scaold will e stored at in a neat and tidy *anner) They will not e stacked +ertically against the scaold) Material will not ostruct access< egress)

 Loose tues, clips or oards will not e left on a scaolding after its co*pletion)

 5here (caolders are erecting a slung or cantile+ered section or crawling around on a pipe ridge or other structural steelwork they will, in all instances where there is a possiility of falling *ore than = *etres, wear a full ody safety harness and life line which will e hooked o at all ti*es ao+e head height)

 5here a scaold is left in an inco*plete state, the otto* ladder will e re*o+ed and a notice will e secured to the lower lift stating H6anger #nco*plete (caold Deep OI)

 5here one section of a working platfor* is inco*plete, access *ay e gained to the co*pleted section pro+ided that a stop end, pre+enting entry, is placed o+er the working platfor* at guard7rail height) 8 notice stating H6anger #nco*plete (caold Deep OI will e secured to the stop end) This notice will e in the appropriate languages)

 $andalling will e the nor*al *ethod of erecting, *odication and dis*antling a scaold) 5here, howe+er, a scaold consists of a considerale nu*er of lifts a gin wheel *ay e used, pro+ided the following re.uire*ents are *et F7

  The cantile+ered tue to which the gin wheel is secured does not pro"ect *ore than 2?9** eyond the scaold, unless it is ade.uately supported)

  The cantile+ered tue is secured to the inside and outside standard using right angle couplers) /oth standards to e diagonally raced)

 8fter the co*pletion of erection, *odication or dis*antling the area shall e cleaned for any deris)

 8fter the co*pletion of erection and or *odication of scaold a co*petent scaold inspector<super+isor shall inspect the scaolding)

 8ll scaolds will e inspected prior to use, at e+ery se+en7day periods thereafter, efore use following se+ere weather conditions or other da*ages caused y an e!ternal force and after *odication) The result of inspections shall e registered into log ook)
