others in the community.

We will have some boxes ready for use this

growing season. If you would like more

Way

of Life

is here for you, the community, and our Sunday service is open to everyone. We ask you to help us comply with SHA regulations when you come to visit. A few things to keep in mind:

We must sit at least 2m apart from people who are not part of our household.

All attendees need to wear masks for the entire duration of the service.

Pre-registration helps us to stay within the limit of 30 people per service. Please register at wayoflifechurch.ca

Food and drink are not allowed right now, so we don't have any snacks out or the coffee pot on. (Sorry about that!)

Services are also available live on YouTube at 10:30am on Sunday, and can be watched anytime after that. Search "Way of Life Church Pilot Butte" on YouTube and you will find

our channel.

Unemployment and under-employment are taking a toll on many individuals and families during the pandemic.

We have supplies of food and household paper products that are free for anyone who has need of them.

Please contact Pastor Norm if we can be of assistance to you.

Sunday Mass Time: 9:00 am

May 6, 2021 : Mass and Adoration starting at 7:00 pm.

Confessions will also be heard.

I would like to pay tribute to these two remarkable ladies who I just found out passed away earlier in the year. They both made a lasting impression on my life when I was quite young and inexperienced and then later on in life. I met both of these ladies while working for the Dept. of Education in 1979-1981. Hazel was my supervisor and Penny worked for the Correspondence unit at the time. It was a pleasure to work with them as they were both so kind, patient, with a good sense of humour and always smiling! Penny would invariably come down to the 2nd floor whenever her work sent her that way (and even other times as well lol!). To be able to learn from these two amazing women was

inspir-ing. Then to see that they had joined the Golden Sunset Club in Pilot Butte - I was so happy to see their famil-iar faces! Their desire to volunteer and help where possible, was an asset to the GSC. I recall them having musi-cians (Hazel’s brother for one, if I remember correctly) come and perform for club events. Both Hazel and Penny were at numerous GSC monthly lunches (among other occasions) and it was always great to see them and have a quick visit. Hazel would also bring her Mom once in awhile and I had the pleasure of meeting her as well. It is noted in both their

obituaries that Mr. Herb Partridge was referred to as their “second Father”. What a testament to the loving and caring nature of both ladies.

April!

April showers bring May flowers!

Or perhaps should I say “snow” ha

ha? Spring is here even if we did get

a surprise snow storm! The birds

have returned and everyone has a

“spring” in their step. We took the

opportunity at preschool this April to

take another look at the theme

"Friends Forever” to learn the social

skills of “Understanding Personal

Space” and “How to Interrupt

Polite-ly”! We also worked on a special

"All About Me" project, another

tra-dition at preschool, that we send

home in our Memory Boxes at the

end of the year

For the second half of April we are

looking forward to our theme on

“Transportation”. Buses, cars,

planes, boats and trains will take

centre stage. We will learn all about

the types of vehicles that travel our

roads, waterways and fly in our skies!

We can’t wait to enjoy making “tire

track” paintings with small toy

vehi-cles, bus driver hats, paper airplanes

and getting “stuck” in a “traffic jam”

while playing inside our giant fire

truck and school bus tents. See you

next month!

Recreation Board in conjunction with Sask Lotteries Assistance Grant, for ongoing donation to our newsletter. The donation

from the Rec Board enables the News and viewS to keep publishing and aids in local sports, culture and recreation advertising. Our continued thanks for the support!

The grant allows expansion of the News and viewS as necessary, with local content, assorted advertising and hopefully making it more appealing and interesting to read.

The Town of Pilot Butte provides financial funding as well as continued support in other ways. The Town has pledged to ensure that the News and viewS will publish, no matter what! Thank you to the Town for their ongoing and continuing support. It takes a tremendous financial worry off of the volunteers! The R.M. of Edenwold also supplies the newsletter with financial funding and we use a portion of these funds to send copies of the newsletters to some R.M. residents.

This financial windfall (for us!) is enabling us to produce a larger, more attractive newsletter for your enjoyment. We hope that we can continue to provide a quality of newsletter that makes us the

“must read” item each month.

We truly appreciate the support and could not publish without this funding along with our backpage sponsors.
