Immersions
At the end of each quarter, you will have the opportunity to attend in-person global immersions. These three-day weekend residencies will help you further develop your leadership potential by attending corporate speaking events, live simulations, mock interviews and other hands-on experiences. They also create opportunities for you to form lasting personal and professional bonds with impressive classmates and accomplished faculty from around the world.
You are required to physically attend at least two three-day immersions during the program.

Academic Background
To be accepted into MBA@UNC, you must have a bachelor’s degree or the international equivalent of a four-year degree.
If you completed your education outside of the U.S., you will need to have your academic transcripts reviewed by the World Education Service (WES). We evaluate your ability to perform from your academic transcripts and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores.
Professional Experience
MBA@UNC applicants must have a minimum of two years professional business experience. We value advanced degrees, but they are not a substitute for work experience.
You must also submit three professional recommendations with your application.
Business Knowledge
Basic business knowledge is required for all students enrolled in MBA@UNC. You must have an understanding of basic accounting, statistics, finance and economics principles.
You also need to be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
GMAT Scores & Tests
The GMAT is required for MBA@UNC. We accept GMAT scores less than five years old. Please ensure that you have requested that your score be sent to MBA@UNC. Our GMAT code is D40-HL-07. If English is not your native language, we also require TOEFL or IELTS or PTE Academic, with few exceptions.
Essays
There are four essay questions on the application — three required and one optional — which will be used to evaluate your written communication skills.

UNC Kenan-Flagler seeks students whose academic background, professional experience and leadership abilities meet the rigorous demands of our top-ranked programs.
Application Fee
The application fee is $140. Under some circumstances, candidates can qualify for an application fee waiver.
Financing Your MBA
Employer Sponsorship: Some companies provide full or partial tuition support for their employees. We welcome the opportunity to help you build a business case for corporate support of your MBA education.
Fellowships: MBA@UNC awards a limited number of partial tuition fellowships to outstanding admitted applicants who have demonstrated excellence in many areas of their applications.
Student Loans: Students can be considered for federal or private education loans to cover tuition for MBA@UNC.
A financial aid officer dedicated to MBA@UNC is available to provide guidance and assistance to our student loan applicants.
