Brief Description

Female

I am a Spanish native and have more than 18 years of experience in the translation and localisation fields. At the present moment, I work as a freelancer in Madrid.

Regarding my professional background, I have in-depth knowledge of all steps involved in the translation, localisation and project management process. I have worked as translator/localiser/PM for companies such as: Rank Xerox (UK), Lionbridge (United States), Dragon Systems, Wildfire

Communications, Bowne Global Solutions (Madrid), ForeignExchange, Star Linguistic Services, among others.

I have an extensive knowledge of most help systems, software, hardware and documentation related to the IT area, as well as the advertising and marketing world in the field of both translation and localisation. The quality of the work I carry out is ensured by the process of thorough edition and proofreading, the latter based on international guidelines, on specific style guides provided by the clients and on carefully prepared glossaries specifically related to the product being localised. I am also aware of the importance of maintaining formatting and coding, and other issues imposed by engineering-related limitations. I have extensively tested help systems, focusing on consistency, cleaning indexes, checking links, being always detail oriented, and concentrating on finding typos and errors in written and online documentation.
