By now you're probably wondering…just how much is this going to cost? Not to worry. In many cases, we'll be able to uncover places where you're paying unnecessary expenses—hidden mutual fund fees are one example—and use that money to unlock your retirement plan’s “buried treasure.” Your retirement plan may have hidden costs and expenses. The industry calls these 12 b-1 and sub TA fees. We call them “buried treasure,” or the gold bullion of your retirement plan. These fees can be used to reduce your plan’s future expenses and cover some, if not all, of our consulting fees!

We can be compensated in a number of ways. It may be as simple as placing us as broker of record on your retirement plan. If you prefer, we can act as an investment advisor and be paid a percentage of your plan’s assets on an ongoing basis. Lastly, we can receive a consulting fee based on the specific services that you desire. It’s your choice.

Geneva Pension Consultants, a division of Geneva Wealth Management Ltd., specializes in 401(k) strategies for small to mid-size companies. They assist in plan design, implementation and oversight. Geneva takes great pride in the ongoing support and education afforded to individual participants in meeting their long-term retirement needs.

Curtis Luckman, the President of Geneva Pension Consultants, graduated from Hofstra University magna cum laude with a B.B.A. in Business Administration. He also is a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law and successfully passed the New York State bar exam. He interned and started his business career at Price Waterhouse where he became a Certified Public Accountant.

For more than fifteen years he has been a full-time financial planner. He is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner and is a member of the FPA, Financial Planning Association, and ASPPA, American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

He has also earned the AIF professional designation, Accredited Investment Fiduciary, which is awarded by the Center of Fiduciary Studies. He has received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility. This not only fortifies his daily practices in serving the best interests of his clients, but it also allows him to counsel other investment stewards, such as plan sponsors and trustees, in applying a prudent investment process to satisfy their fiduciary responsibilities.
