Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Englewood, CO, ICG Communications, Inc. distributed phone, voice, and data services to the telecommunications industry. It offered three main services: Dial-Up, Point-to-Point Broadband, and Corporate Services. ICG had interconnection contracts with every chief local exchange carrier, in addition to being certified in most states in the country. ICG had last reported revenue in 2003 of about $349 million and employs about 900 people. In May 31, 2006, it was acquired by Level 3 Communications, Inc. a privately held Colorado-based telecommunications company. Level 3 paid total consideration of 25,975,088 unregistered shares of Level 3 common stock and approximately $45 million in cash.
