Unit Mission:

The Purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for the exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship of scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

Unit Objective 1:

By August 31, 2010, LCC's PTK Theta Theta Chapter will complete the necessary requirements to maintain a Five Star Exemplary Status for this Honor Society.

Expected Outcome(s):

PTK sponosors and students will attend district, regional, and national conferences and complete PTK requirements to maintain LCC's Theta Theta Five Star Exemplary Status.

Measurement Method(s):

Students and advisors attended the required conference to maintain the Five Star Exemplary Status for the Honor Society.

Criteria for Success - Benchmark:

Students and advisors went to the district, regional, and national conferences.

Level of Achievement: 100 %

This objective was met and completed. Students and advisors attend the required conferences.

Unit Objective 2:

By August 31, 2011, LCC's PTK Theta Theta Chapter will complete the necessary requirements to maintain a Five Star Exemplary Status for this Honor Society.

Expected Outcome(s):

PTK sponosors and students will attend district, regional, and national conferences and complete PTK requirements to maintain LCC's Theta Theta Five Star Exemplary Status.

Measurement Method(s):

Student and advisors have not yet attended all the required conferences to maintain the Five Star Exemplary Status. The last conferences are schedule for mid-March and April 2011.

Criteria for Success - Benchmark:

In order to maintain the Five Star Exemplary Status students and advisors will have to attend the conferences which are already scheduled.

Level of Achievement: 50 %

Students and advisors have not yet attended all the required conferences for recognition.

PTK Theta Theta Chapter monthly meetings were held on a monthly basis.

Criteria for Success - Benchmark:

The meetings were conducted in order to provide students with the necessary planning and development required activities for the Honor Society.

PTK Theta Theta Chapter monthly meetings are held on a monthly basis; currently the meetings for March and April are scheduled and will take place on Fridays of the stated months.

The meetings are conducted in order to provide students with the necessary planning and development required activities for the Honor Society.

PTK Theta Theta Chapter will conduct a Fall and Spring Induction Ceremony for New Members.

Measurement Method(s):

PTK Theta Theta Chapter conducted the two induction ceremonies 1 in the fall 2009 and 1 in the spring 2010.

Criteria for Success - Benchmark:

The ceremony allowed for new members to join the chapter and/or be inducted into the Honor Society.

Level of Achievement: 100 %
