Conference to be held in Amman, Jordan on November 3-6, 2014 OLIVEBIOTEQ-2014 brings together scientists, technicians, managers, exporters, policy makers, and stu-dents to exchange experience of new approaches to olive production and marketing, and to develop new thinking for approaches to a sustainable and more profitable global olive industry.

This is the fifth gathering of international olive industry leaders build on a series of past OLIVEBIOTEQ conferences about “Biotechnology and olive product quality in the Medi-terranean”, these were:

1- OLIVEBIOTEQ-2004, in Errachidia, Morocco 2- OLIVEBIOTEQ-2006 in Palermo, Italy. 3- OLIVEBIOTEQ-2009 in Sfax, Tunisia. 4- OLIVEBIOTEQ-2011 in Crete, Greece.

We are certain that the opportunity to stay together in Amman, the modern and ancient capital of Jordan and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, will facilitate to extend the results of this exchange to the professionals to improve the environmental and economic sustainability of olive industry.

Conference Topics

OLIVEBIOTEQ-2014 will present new research and technical innovations. Researchers are invited to submit papers related to olive growing and production on one of the fol-lowing conference themes:

- Olive Genetic Resources/Breeding/Propagation - Biology, Physiology and Biotechnology

- Planting systems / Crop management / Organic farming - Irrigation/Stress Physiology/Nutrition

- Harvesting and Postharvest Management - Pest and Disease Control

- Olive Oil and Table Olive Technology, Quality and Health - Olive Industry By-products Management.

Registration

1. Early registration: Early registration date is extended till 20 September 2014.. Late registration (after 20/9/2014) includes an extra fee. After October 20th_{, 2014 registration will only be completed during}

the conference.

2. 1-day attendance: includes the abstracts book and coffee break / lunch coupons for 1 day.

3. Regular registration fee: includes abstracts book, proceedings, conference bag, informative mate-rial, buffet lunch during all conference days, coffee breaks, 1-day technical tour and gala dinner. 4. Students› fee: will only be available to those who will have a valid students› ID card during the Con-ference.

5. Accompanying persons› fee: includes, gala dinner and 1-day technical tour.

Guidelines for abstract submission

- Abstracts submitted should be referring to previously unpublished reports and original scientific or technical work, which falls within the Conference Topics mentioned earlier in this document.

- Abstracts should strictly be written in English language.

All abstracts should be in Microsoft Word version, font Times New Roman, single -spaced, A4 page size (margin: 2,5 cm top & bottom and 3 cm left & right). Please down-load the Abstract Template from the Conference website and follow the predefined for-matting.

- The text must be 400 words or less (not including title or authors), and definitely not exceeding a single page under the specified formatting. Scientific committee will not edit abstracts for formatting, typing, spelling or grammatical errors.

- Please carefully check text for errors before submitting the abstract, since the out-come of the reviewer›s scoring of your abstract, may strongly be affected.

- More than one abstract may be submitted per author, but each abstract must be ac-companied with a separate Abstract Submission Form.

- When using abbreviations, spell the full word while mentioning the first time, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.

- Tables, graphs, charts and references should not be included in abstracts. - List maximum six (6) keywords related to your research.

- Abstracts not conforming to this standard will be sent back to Authors for proper edit-ing.

- Notification of Receipt and Acceptance will be send via mail to the corresponding author only.

- Abstracts should only be submitted via e-mail (to Dr. Salam Ayoub, mail to: sayoub@ ncare.gov.jo, along with the Abstract Submission Form, which can be downloaded from the Conference website.

- The deadline for abstract submission is June 30, 2014.

- The deadline for acceptance by the scientific committee is July 31, 2014.

- The deadline for full paper submission is extended till the dates of the conference, 6th

November 2014 at latest (the full paper can be sent by e-mail or it can be delivered at a special desk during the conference).
