This guide was developed as of November 2011, under the direction of

Martha Williams, to assist JABA managers and project leaders to identify and

contact student volunteers and other academic resources available in the

community.

Section I – Inventory of Existing Contacts

Based on a survey of JABA staff this lists academic programs and key

contacts both at JABA and the educational institution for current or recent

collaborative efforts. There are three sections: UVA, other higher education,

and high school.

Section II – UVA Campus-Wide Initiatives

Section III – UVA School-Specific Programs

These sections are based on a search of the UVA Website to identify

links to the many programs at UVA which include a goal of community

service and/or service learning.

Appendix

Includes a few examples of relevant UVA websites as of November

2011.
